Not sure, possible. They had issues with supply during and post COVID as I was asking them about replacing the front-end on ours for a longer one and gave up! London Green Cycles seem to have stopped supplying them. I think there are a few "electric" bikes shops that stock/sell them now, but these would be electric models only of course, but they can get other models in.
These have a shop in Acton which I visited:
https://urbanebikes.com/collections/douze@Vince has a Douze and whilst he was in France in (his/a) van he's bought some bits for his Douze as I assume they're easier to get hold of and cheaper?

@PhilDAS you should test ride a Douze. Far superior handling to a Bullitt and the tight turning circle thanks to the cable steering makes manoeuvring a loaded bike in tight spaces so much easier. My wife loves riding our Douze and has done since day one. She refused to ride the Bullitt we had on test once she had ridden the Douze.

@pascalo i’m Still on 100% leg power only! @Vince does have a mid drive fitted and it should from memory fit like the Bafang you show above locating on the BB shell. You wouldn’t be able to fit a Bosch style mid drive without a frame builder getting involved.
Douze have changed their frame design with a modular plate system for different configurations now to eliminate to simplify production iterations.

Great to hear you’ll have a good harvest. I work for a drinks based creative agency and a few of our clients in the Provence Region have been hit hard due to crazy cold spring and then crazy heat/dry summer. I think you’re the better region for more stable weather! Good luck and look forward to seeing the more child friendly Douze.

Thanks for the contact. I did message Douze several times. No idea who responded as it was just from info@douze-cycles and signed off Your Douze-Cycles Team
Thanks so much for the kind offer to bring back any items for us. Don't think financially we're ready to spend a BIG chunk of cash for a new front end at the moment. Our boy still squishes in, it is just that come the winter time and (if!) it does rain then the canopy does cramp him up a bit as his head is touching the roof. The new one is a completely different design so has lots more headroom (overshoots the handlebars) but don't want to spend €399 on a canopy on a 600mm front-end when really we need to go to 800mm.
Dare I ask how the grapes have done this year? Heard lots of horror stories over lots of poor grape harvests amongst wine growers. Fingers crossed all goes well.
Guess you'll be putting the champagne in the Ecobox and not leaving the bike unattended for long! :O
-
@Vince did you order this from France? Ideally we'd upgrade our 600mm front end with a 800mm, but Douze couldn't tell me how much or when they'd be looking to produce them.
Our boy is 8 and he still goes in it (minus cover) along with another 8 year old when we cycle 4.5miles to ParkRun on a Saturday morning.
Canopy is expensive, but try and make something like that yourself. They're useful not just for keeping kids dry (when does it ever rain in London these days I hear you cry!) but also for cramming in more stuff as it keeps everything "contained", but that €399 is punchy indeed!
Good luck with your new kit. Does this mean the alu box is getting retired?

A W E S O M E ! :) Let's go for it!!!
It's a rare beast on these shores and reminds me of a guy back in South Wales in the early 90s (where I grew up) who had one along with his mate on a Yeti Ultimate. Those two looked so RAD!
It's still 0.5" shorter than my first MTB when I was 14!!! :) :) :)
Will PM you.
Ta!

@mmccarthy love the hex bit hack! :) Glad she uses a cafetiere vs. espresso as those grinds are super fine, although the Zassenhaus keeps grinding too fine because it flexes/distorts as you turn the handle!
-
Thanks @Mr_Smyth and @mmccarthy, will look into these. We have an old wooden Zassenhaus which somehow has great reviews, but the metal lid section becomes buckled with use and this completely effects the grind, plus the ergonomics are horrific.
Want to buy once and have the ability to buy spares should something break/wear.

Thought I'd never post on this thread as I HATE coffee! That's a Good start :) However I need to buy my wife a coffee grinder and now I can appreciate why this thread has 920 pages!
After a hand grinder for grinding beans that will be used in a cafetiere. Really liked the Peugeot until I went into a shop and the base didn't even click properly into the body despite features on the mouldings. Also the base felt quite slippery which means once you start grinding I think it will slip when held in the hand.
She's the only one in our house who drinks coffee (1 or 2 max a day) so a small hand-held one will do and if compact could be good as we can put it in our camper van.
Thanks for reading! :)

Thanks for the update @Vince. That's a pity, they sounded good on paper and looked good on the bike, but these will almost be a no-no for my non e-assist Douze! I always like to use the SPD side of our pedals for extra Ooomph when loaded, can't be losing anymore watts! :)
-
@Vince they look great! That's about as snug as you'll want them. Would be interesting to see if you get any spray from them in the wet. Might consider these over the Marathon Plus' as I could run them at a lower pressure for extra comfort without worrying about sidewall damage.

@PhilDAS agree it could be much better, plus these segregated lanes Ealing Council have created are SO bumpy! No potholes as such, but they undulate a huge amount so you get bumped around as you ride. The road is so much smoother. Wonder if it's anything to do with the narrow width/equipment they use to roll/flatten them?

Thanks @BrickMan. Brexit has really balls things up. Yep I think LGC got stung big style with custom charges on a small order a while back and weren't looking to get more stock until they had resolved the issue. Shame as they're great bikes...
