About a month ago I would have said SKS Chromoplastics as I have used them for as long as I can remember. I finally got around to replacing a battered pair and the new (well, not that new) rounder profile is fair inferior to the old squarer section. I can just about squeeze 25mm conti's on my track frame with guards and the new ones flex/twist/move too much and I get slight tyre contact at times which is annoying. But more annoying than that is the rear guard failed after two weeks use by snapping clean in half despite careful drilling and fixing in the same way as I always have done in the past. Been repaired with a riveted stainless bracket for a temp fix, but will be binned once I decide what to get as they are just not as good as they used to be and on a commuter need to be super reliable...

Thanks for sharing, it's appreciated! Will look to have a go this weekend. we planted a few fruit trees in our front & back garden with varied success! lets hope the quince turns into a success story as it'a a good looking tree and the correct root stock... a few of our trees that were sold to us as dwarf/small root stock were clearly not and grew massive so were removed :(

Good effort though! Must have been super-tough to qualify. I used to race in the UK only and if doing National races, I used to get my arsed properly kicked! Stupidly I always put my work before cycling so just didn't get time to train enough :( -
@Jonny69
Always used 10a's as that's what companies I worked for always used...
26 blades look like they'd be good. For me 10a's are quite robust too as I end up using scalpels for loads of tasks. I'd be lost without one! -
@Tallboy
Thanks for posting this! Think I'll be getting something like this for our boy...He has a 14" Cnoc and bombs around on it with ease, but towing him will certainly help us cover distance so we can get to the good stuff quicker as he's easily distracted! :)
How much does it move about on a bike once it's hooked up/not in use? Thinking about some low-key mountain biking with the little man... :P

Yep, not an ideal fix, but the only thing I could find in work that was thin enough to fit in the gap between the mounting lug and body. The other option was to ride home with hand permanently applying pressure on the light... scalpel is currently the safest option if I want a working light, until I'm forced to buy an Edelux 2!
Still got a scar on my inside right thigh from having a scalpel blade incident many moons ago when I used to use to work on a A0 drawing board with trace... :)

@WimVDD is that you racing?!
This is what I had, felt like a pair of slippers!

Put this in Hacks & bodges...
It's a 10 year old Edelux. Never been turned off in that time. Must have done 75,000+ miles.Mounting lug worked loose and rattles like a rattly annoying thing. SON recommended me to use a gap-filling superglue which I did 6 months ago, but on weekend I finally routed the tail light cable through the frame to neaten things up and the gap-filling superglue became loose with all the fettling and the tail light only works now if I tilted the light forward or wedged a scalpel blade in it (couldn't find any shim material in work!).
I assume it's either a bad earth/internal connection... thoughts anyone?
And yes the scalpel will get replaced with a more permanent bodge... :)

Lovin' those blue Dominators! Had a pair and they were super-comfy despite my broad hobbit feet... -

@hippy Good to see (and hear... them brakes!!! :) you briefly this morning. Reckon we last chatted +8 years ago heading west to Ealing one evening. Hope our next encounter doesn't take so long...

+1 regarding low spoke count. I've broken quite a few spokes on our Douze in the 22 months we have owned it. Love the idea of building a lightweight cargo bike, but not at the expense of practicality, that's why I'd chuck in mudguards and dynamo lights meaning you can ride it anytime in all weathers...

Thanks @Tallboy will chat to wife as it looks like a good addition to our stable of bikes! :)
