Saunders Mountain Marathon this weekend. Weather forecast looks a bit breezy to be on the Lake District Fells all weekend. Am attempting a score course with a new partner so hoping to enjoy it and have a good time.

my main run this weekend was over to Highgate to spectate at the night of the 10,000m pbs. It is a great event and makes track genuinely fun and exciting. I'd recommend putting it in your diary for next year, especially if you're based in London.

I noticed John Gilbert, former Kent AC stalwart, was third today.

Met league was decent, fun course with a river crossing and decent downhill single-track through woods. Top 100 again. Three met leagues in and still to have a good run.

More Met League tomorrow after an unplanned rest week. Should be ok.

Was up on the Dodds today. Weather utterly awful. Coldest and wettest I have ever been on a run - unable to do zips, open drybags and the hail in my eyes made it tricky to see the ground. Thank goodness it could be cut short.

I'd say to definitely run this week. Maybe a mile or two of MP in there. Unless you're injured. Unless the injury is taper madness.

I once had to go wild twice, during the Southern xc championships at Stanmer Park. Very annoying as I was in the shape of my life and would probably have got to 10.

It is a big issue. People shouldn't be cutting the organisers as much slack as they are. They've advertised a marathon and they haven't organised one. People pay a lot of money for the experience and they haven't delivered.

It isn't the first time the Brighton marathon lot have messed up their distances either.
