Thanks Tiddy, the other reason that I would like Ti is that I plan to do a few TT's on it and read that Ti may reduce road buzz down more than Aluminium?
A few ounces of weight isn't going to be a problem compared against my lardy ass and I acknowledge that the Use one is light so when I referred to wanting a light one I meant in comparison to the 360g ones that are available cheaply.
Tel...as I say if one doesn't come up in Ti, then will give you a shout...thanks.

@tomd I stand corrected, but is that seat cluster the same though?
Can't see on the JE James page, but is there now no Clover leafs on the frame?
Can't find anything on the Colnago site.
-
Is it me or do I smell something fishy about this bike: -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320732318109
I wrote to the seller saying track frames don't normally come with bottle cage fitments, can't see any clover leafs on the lugs, a-head forks, and the geometry doesn't look right.
It's a nice frame, but I don't think it is a Colnago, am I wrong?

Youll turn it around in no time! And then we can both ride our new frames to Brighton. Nothing better than doing that on a beauty that glides over the tarmac and cuts through the air!!!
I love walking up ditchling. I hear the magic gear is 44x19 so maybe next time i do it like that;-)
Well hopefully as long as I can get the dosh together!
Have you got a new track frame then?
Do they do a 26 Front and 60 rear!!! lol

Just thought I'd report back after having my Geoffrey Butler Track Frame Resprayed by Autostrada, well picked up the frame this morning and I'm very impressed, the whole job has taken just under two weeks and I'm very pleased (pictures below)
Mike has been great at keeping me up to date and charged £85 all in which including brazing up the rear brake bridge hole, applying the transfers (but not the actual transfers as I got them from GB in Croydon direct and they were NOS.
The finish is flawless and to give the paint a real kick he did it in pearlescent White which you can hardly notice but just adds to the finish.

Has anyone else sorted the time out yet, as I'm having to use one of my old Micro Cards, I didn't have a time.txt file to update the time on the camera, has anyone else fathomed it out as the parameters in the instructions don't seem to work for me.
Tried creating a file with: -
2011/06/15 12:45:00 and that had no joy and messed around with the date format as well but no joy.

Does anyone know something about these geoffrey butler track frames?
Sended some emails to geoffrey butler http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/ but they did not answer. Its hard to find any info about these frames. I really like my new frame, just got it. Somewhere got info, track drops are made by zeus, not sure of it...It has 26.6mm seatpost size and it has a reynolds 525 sticker on seat tube. No serial numbers above at the bottom bracket.
Does anyone have geoffrey track frames?
Take some good photo's and see if there is a serial number anywhere and email them to George at GB (Give him a call first) George was able to date my frame quite accurately and should be able to help you as well.
I used to race on one of their chunky stay Colombus frames with a cut out BB, have never seen one since, have you?
-
How did the second resparay go?
Hi William, The first respray of my Track Frame is being collected on Friday Morning, so if that is fine then if I get a chance before my L2P ride on the 28th then will get it sand blasted and then dropped in for spraying whilst I am away.
I've learnt this time not to just assume someone can do the job right, this time I want to see it before I pay, but if judging by the frames around his place, then they should turn out beautiful, you never know I may end up not selling it if it looks like his other Candy Apple Red frames.
I have already had the transfers made up, so it is just about finding enough hours in the day!, I'll post when things are rolling.
-
I know, I know. rare as hens teeth, which I have some: -
:-)
But I'll be damned if I can find a nice set of Pistas, my frame comes back from spraying at the end of this week and I really want to get it built up , but can't until I can find some decent cranks, anyone got any they want to part with?
Ta!
-
Hi there,
Are you still willing to sell as is ?
Warm Regards
Luke
Hi Luke,
I would, but when I took it down to Autostrada, they showed me how bad a spray job had been done and literally scratched some paint off the bottom bracket with their finger nails, as a result of which I was going to get it shot blasted and then resprayed, so you need to be aware that it needs this.
PM me if you are still interested.

I think when it was originally sprayed someone screwed up.
Anyway have decided to have the frame stripped completely, all the pitting made good and resprayed as I don't like doing things by halves.
Should be a gorgeous frame by the time I'm finished.
No sure whether to go down the original transfer route or put the 60/70's style.
I'm using Mike Kowal at Autostrada, been up to see his work today and it is superb, I'll put his contact details below, he charges £85 for a metallic spray job and lacquered transfers. I have him doing my GB Track frame at the moment so will post the results when I collect: -

Should be like this :-) maybe ?
I agree if it was that style of graphics, but it would appear that the original spray job when new fitted the graphics that way round and respray followed the original photo's.
The graphics were changed around 1986/9 to this new style according to George Clare at GB
Thanks Mr Bump, have also seen the following: -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260818592855 These appear similar @£59 post free
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220716528890 £64.99 + P&P
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290589986273 These are for auction, so you never know ;-)
Decisions, decisions????
EEI also looked at Koo bikes but nothing less than £99 unless you have a link?
