Hope this fits the ethos of the thread -
Neither of us are guitarists per-se, but we both make use of a multitude of guitar effects pedals which I thought might appeal here.
I'm supporting Jessica Moss at Cafe Oto on the 28th of November.
Fans of Post rock will have come across Jessica's playing on various Constellation Records releases.
She's in the midst of a European tour promoting her new album and I'm thrilled to be opening for her at the London installment.https://dice.fm/event/x5r7l-jessica-moss-thomas-stone-28th-nov-cafe-oto-london-tickets
I hope to be putting my Mantic Hulk to good use, but this is probably more of an intimate show for full on sub-bass mania

I have come across this chap on a couple of occasions on my way in through Brixton-oval-elephant.
Not been on the receiving end myself, but have witnessed terrible cycling by him. A nasty undertake of someone prompted me to mutter that If I caught him at the next lights I'd point out how dangerous and c*ntish it is.
I didn't catch him and hope never to see him again.

I'm building up a beater and I'm having the classic problem of seat post fit.
Internal tube measures 26.8, but won't clamp tight on a 26.8 post.
Shimmed up to 27.0 it works ok, but not great. My plan is to run a 27.0 reamer in and get the tube round and clean again. Test fit a 27.0 post. If that's loose and there is enough material on the seattube, then ream to 27.2.
What shops in London can anyone recommend specifically for this or who on the forum has the tools to do it?
Thanks for any pointers

I know this has been covered once many years ago and I believe there was a French chap who used to post pictures of all his bikes with reversed seat posts, but I can't remember his name.
Basically my problem is this -
On a frame that has a seat tube angle slacker than 75° I can't get my saddle forward enough for my biomechanics.In-line posts don't move things forward enough so I have reversed setback seatposts in the past and been able to bring the saddle quite far forward.
Not all posts have enough angle adjustment to allow this though, so I wonder if anyone can recommend posts that are currently available that can accommodate this.
I know the Thomson layback can be reversed, but I'm looking at much cheaper options for a beater.
Thanks for any help

Had my brooks c17 saddle and Thomson seatpost nicked on Tuesday afternoon from totenham road in Dalston.
Both seatpost and saddle were covered in crapoflague and were chained to the frame as well, plus ball bearing glued in the seattube bolt. Think I was lucky it was only the saddle&post.
Saw two other people saddle-less in the area as I pushed home so expect it was the same crew in all cases.

Parts of my main bike have already been pinched from locking up around my new job and I can't afford to lose any more so it's time for a beater.
Anything with gears considered, old hybrids especially.
Seat tube 60cm plus. top tube around 60cm or with the ability to get contact points where I need them.
Ideally under £100 (not a deal breaker).
The tattier looking the better, but it must function, be structurally sound and not require a load of funds to get going.Pick up in London, ASAP.
Anyone got a banger gathering dust?
Cheers

Great thank you both!
I'm resigning myself to public transport for a week (bleurgh!!) while I weigh up options.
I absolutely do not want to lose my bike both out of financial necessity and difficulty building an exact replacement, so I'm thinking maybe buying a generic beater.
That does defeat the point in owning my primary bike in the first place though (built up to lug my equipment around London each day, but with ride characteristics I like).
Damn bike thieves!!! -
Bumping this thread.
After recommendations of the latest strongest locks available.
Weight irrelevant as I will leave it at work.
Price irrelevant within reason.
This will be on a bike left outside in daylight hours in a bit of a sketchy area. Not ideal obviously, but I can't bring it in. This lock will need to be resilient to angle grinders. I know with enough time one can cut through any lock, I just want this not to be worth the effort:This will be a new super primary lock my other two used as secondary/tertiary.
Any motorbike chain locks worth a look?
Thanks for any pointers/help

I've been following Messaker on Instagram for a while and I really like their large rolltop.
I didn't know THLP and cargowerks so will check them out, thank you.
In London we have Vpaintz, but I think she's taking a break from bag making at the moment.
I really like the ethos of the company, but would prefer something a little more visually understated.

Had a quick read through most of this thread.
Is anyone on here producing good quality courier backpacks?I lug a lot of stuff by bike (and then use the bag to move equipment for my gigs) and as yet another cheap rolltop disintegrates I'm getting close to investing in something of considerably better quality and would like to support a UK based maker.
If @Black_Rainbow_Project was taking orders I'd be in line, but want to know who else is making.
Cheers
