Yeah, he's riding fucking strong! Josh Kato also ahead of record pace... But, lots of snow on the descent from Togwotee, and it seems Colorado has just had a dumping of snow. Doubtful record can be broken if lots of passes involve hours of post-holing through snow.
Right now, Sofi is riding through the most mosquito infested place I have ever experienced, it was horrid. He made it through the Zone of Death too (https://www.vox.com/2014/5/22/5738756/you-can-kill-someone-in-a-section-of-yellowstone-and-get-away-scot)

Sofiane is mental, no sleep, the vets have had rest and aren't far behind him. @skinny does he normally go off at the start like this? Seems unwise to me, but what would I know, it took me 2 days to get to where he is now!

Alan Goldsmith (organiser and I think 8+ time finisher of HT550) is heading home, it's getting dangerous to cross rivers he says... https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx6wQh9FJip/

For those that have or want to ride ultras, this guy has an interesting take on endurance, life and suffering. He's hardcore, would like to see what he could do to some ultra bike races. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvWB7B8tXK8

@hippy Singlespeed isn't a bad idea for this I think. I broke my rear mech on first day in peanut butter mud that was full on slate splinters. Rode 400 miles with 4 gears...
