Existing tile splash back removed £118.
you could do
Ceiling boarded over with new plasterboards £382.
a little high but not crazy
Ceiling and wall section (where the fridge was and splash back section)

Water supply and waste pipe for the washing machine and tap/sink
adjusted to adapt new position £764.extremely expensive for labour in my view, this is not hard. Are they lifting the floor boards and popping it out in exactly the right place? Are you moving it far away from where it is currently/towards the middle of the flat/house away from an exterior wall?
Existing water heater repositioned and replaced with new (including
rerouting the pipes; instant under sink water heater to be supplied by the
client) PC SUM £466.seems high but not sure. What heater are you going for?
Ducting for kitchen extractor fan supplied and installed £362.
how far does this go? Seems expensive if just labour but suggests it is products as well
1no socket plate replaced with new (electrical fittings to be supplied by
the client) £15.this is easy, but £15 is probably fine
1no kitchen extractor fan fuse spur 1 st and 2 nd fix (electrical fittings to be
supplied by the client) £196.** more than I paid, but I’m no longer in L’sFL**
2no existing kitchen ceiling lights replaced with new (electrical fittings to
be supplied by the client £54.As above
New kitchen base units and laminated/wooden worktop installed (new
base kitchen units and associated accessories to be supplied by the
client) £1,289.doesn’t sound bad, depending on how big the kitchen is I suppose
Storage front remodelled as necessary - TBC
Wall section between wall and base units lined with new splash back
board (splash back board and finish trims to be supplied by the client)
£373.
seems high not sureWashing machine and freestanding electric cooker/oven and extractor
fan installed and connected (appliances and associated accessories to
be supplied by the client) £246.seems high
Ceiling and walls and woodwork prepared and painted (white finish;
paint to be supplied by the client £1,089.
Licensed waste disposal £330.
Total: £6,515 -
did you want an additional socket on the left side in the hole, or just to move it to its new location? Assuming the latter, either:
“I have had a socket moved. The previous electrician used a surface mounted patress box with surface mounted conduit, can you chase out a channel, recess the conduit and replace the surface mounted back box with a normal one please”
Or
“Previous electrician moved a socket for me, using surface mounted conduit because [reason - eg there is something in the wall preventing it being recessed] can you add a blanking plate over the old back box please?”
Given this is a DIY thread on a cycling forum would say if you can fix a puncture you can do either of those things yourself. Doing the first is mildly more complicated but very satisfying. I have no idea if it is something you’re supposed to tell [The Government] about.

We need a thread for this in the UK. For warnings and timings so I don’t miss it. I have an app that tells me but EVEN WITH THAT and going out at 10:30 to look, I didn’t see much, and so I went to bed, and missed it all.
I’m sure we didn’t have northern lights ever when I was a child. Are they better at predicting it? Has magnetic north shifted in our favour? Has climate change affected something?

1) love A2s
2) do it
3) the sun roof has a plastic cog mechanism that snaps, and when it does, it’s not really viable to repair apparently. I had a nice pano roof that didn’t open though.
4) do it
5) there’s a huge storage space under the carpet under the driver’s footwell I didn’t know about for years
6) do it!! -

Any views on this much appreciated. Bristol plumber, coming to Wiltshire, although he had not indicated previously any anticipated uplift. Ofc he only sent it tonight and is due to start tomorrow.
To supply and fit a new flush valve and inlet valve plus materials for for tidying up pipe work on inlet comes to £150
Installation of the new high level toilet and cistern. Which includes bringing the new inlet pipe to the cistern, supplying the new pan connector and sealing pan connector to existing waste pipe. £250 I can dispose of the old toilet as well for an additional £65.
Installation of the basin and materials. Which includes bringing a new hot feed from the cylinder under the floor, bring a cold feed under the floor, pipework for a copper tap and also connecting the waste. The only thing that’s not included in this is the 35mm pipe and fitting required for the waste. All other materials included. £400
Installation of water softener, tidying up existing pipework, new outside tap, first fix kitchen pipe work including all materials £450Looking on checkatrade, it seems probably right for London’s famous London, maybe punch for London’s less famous rural arse end of nowhere.

If you managed the trades separately it would be cheaper. That price probably includes 20% on top of everything for their time running around (but they likely apply it to things that take no running around as well). For a normal flat with a normal kitchen I would keep looking for alternate quotes.
