Ah, yes. Now I remember that part, I stripped the hub down a bit before lockdown as I was suffering from slipping gears. Thanks for the reminder. Will order both and sit down with a cup of coffee one day.

Pulled itself out of the hub. I always screw it right in then back it out a turn before attaching the cable. It pulled (or slipped) out 5mm or so, as that’s what I was able to screw it back in once on the train home.

Indicator chain on my BWR pulled itself out about 5mm. New chain time, or has anyone experienced this and found the threads in their hub to be stripped?
The chain has screwed back in Ok and seems to be holding fast. For now.

Could also be a broken g spring.
It's actually relatively easy to strip one down, open it up to take a look. The second video below is assembly only, but I use both, as one shows some processes clearer than the other, and vice-versa.

I do have this pencilled in my diary (as I do every year!), but Covid has hit the house, plus I haven't ridden fixed for at least two and a half years.

There are two sharp left hand bends, both at the bottom of short descents, on the road towards Bitchet Green (just after you've crossed the road that leads to the wonderful Carters Hill). They are usually awash with gravel, and the second is tighter than the first.
Also, the descent into Ightham starts shallow, but gets steeper at the bottom, where there are also parked cars on the left hand side.

Yep, I’ve used Copydex with no problems. Having a spare rim is very handy for mounting the tyre and inflating while the base tape glue goes off.

It really is very easy, all you need to be able to do it sew, and fix a puncture. Nowt worse than sewing it up then the patch leaking a day later.

Someone tried to nick it once. Train pulled into a station, doors opened, and I heard the unmistakable sound of a Brompton being dropped from a height of about 6”. I’d locked it to a pole, the guy obviously realised this as he lifted it, so just dropped it again.

I saw these guys on a TV programme a few weeks ago, they use a spraying process. Never used them, but if it’s a small part then they might be able to include it in a job with a larger item?
