I dropped my 6a the other week and cracked the screen. The screen protector appears to be holding everything in place for now. Looking back a few pages seems like ismash is the recommended repair?
Didn't know about the battery bloat. Partner has a Fairphone 3 which is shuffling off this mortal coil and is looking at the 5, the specs look ok to me, would consider for next phone as the 6a hasn't impressed me too much (I had Pixel 3a XL and Pixel 2 before).

@hippy we are ready for you!
We've still got riders available in the 50:50 Lucky Dip competition too

We did the signs today. A longer route plus some unexpected diversions (they're filming Slow Horses near Barbican) meant we unexpectedly ran out of signs...!
So when you get to the foot of Canonbie, you can a) sack the climb off and follow the signs back to HHV b) do it from memory/the gpx file and tackle Canonbie / Eliot Bank / Wells Park Road before riding back from Crystal Palace to HHV.
We will remind people of this when they arrive at sign-on (from 9am).
The route is here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45861116

Popping my head back into the thread to say I completed my RRtY and am now on the Audax UK Roll of Honour, hooray. Now I am immortalised until the heat death of the universe. Cool.
Cheers to anyone and everyone in here who gave me advice. Made it a Bakers Dozen on Sunday by doing the Shark, which was surprisingly fun, given my previous experience on AAA rated events :)

Sunday 7 April 2024After a spirited return in 2022 & 2023, your favourite bone-shaking cobbles and lungbusting climbs are back, again! If you would like to take part just fill in the online form via link below.
Sunday 7 April, from 9am at Herne Hill Velodrome
- Ride all your favourite bone-shaking cobbles & lung-busting climbs
- Finish with a flying lap at HHV and join us for the men's Paris-Roubaix
- All Bikes Welcome!
New start location and time!
We are thrilled to announce that our event partners Brixton Cycles Co-operative and Herne Hill Velodrome are supporting Cobblemonster once again! We have a new start point for 2024 at Herne Hill Velodrome; with rolling departs from 9-11am, taking in cobbles and bergs all over central*, East, and South London, finishing with a lap of the iconic HHV**, where you can watch Paris-Roubaix live on the big screen and enjoy our raffle with amazing star prizes!!!
As with previous editions, we are trying to raise awareness and cash for Evelina London Children's Hospital. Taking part is free but we are encouraging a donation of £15 via our Just Giving portal.
It really helps us loads if you can donate before the event (don't forget to check the gift aid option!) as it massively speeds up our admin on the day and means the charity receives gift aid. You are very welcome to give us cash on the day if you prefer, but this isn't eligible for gift aid.
We really hope you will sign up and we see as many of you as possible at Herne Hill Velodrome on Sunday 7 April.
Team Cobblemonster
info@cobblemonster.com*We will publish details of the route closer to the event, but it will feel familiar to returning riders, even if TfL have removed some of the cobbles recently
**In true Paris-Roubaix style, riders finishing the event between 13:30-15:30 will be able to take a lap of South London's most famous velodrome, just like Bradley Wiggins, Elinor Barker, Fred Wright, Laura Kenny, Russell Williams, and more!
- Ride all your favourite bone-shaking cobbles & lung-busting climbs

Yep, sorry for the delay on sending these out, habitually disorganised. On holiday this week so doing some cobblemin today. The route will be a little bit different this year. The tweaks come in based on the roadworks etc that we encounter during recces and then when we put the signs up the day before. I have recce'd as far as The Dog & Bell so far, will likely do the rest one day after work next week or the week after if I can.
Edit: Event for 2024 here - https://www.lfgss.com/events/9485/

Nice tip, will try the foil next time out.
Thanks @ElGonzo & @lotsirb it was a strange day, felt like I was going backwards most of the time but in the end it was about par with a lot of other RRtY rides I've done.
Submitted my provisional DIY entry for February and booked onto a couple of calendars in March in case there's an awful looking forecast and so I don't have to do another DIY/Perm...
