There is always a space available, even if everyone registered for the bike parking rode in on a single day! The only challenge is that security have a list of names and assigned numbers that they just put a tick mark against every day when you ride in. I have numbers for people who use them sporadically so I am just going to rotate through those on days I know they arent using them, be friendly and just explain the situation if questioned. Successful day #1.
Our in house facilities management are happy to take credit when things have to be done (even when tehy are done poorly) but otherwise are very difficult to deal with. At one point they were trying to tell us that 27C temperatures in our area of the office were acceptable and only did something when we threatend to take it to the COO.
Edit - Karma for my complaining about them...apparently both the chillers in our building just failed simultaneously. Its about to get hot in here.

All of our passes have access through the loading bay. They have a security guard there every day who just checks your number and name against a list. My first course of action is going to be trying to just be friendly with security to let me use other people's numbers on days when I know they are not using it. Its just that some of security are on power trips and arent practical about these things.

No, no bigwigs. Just people who are never willing to give up their spots when asked claiming that they need them even though they are not using them at that time and facilities people who arent willing to enforce the use until they need to because we are losing access to some. The allocations are controlled by our own facilities people so they are aware when people leave.
I will bring up these points though when I go to raise it. Thanks.

So I started commuting into work this spring having moved to South London, making the ride into the City more viable. Around the time I was going to start riding I asked my employer (medium sized financial institution) about getting access to our cycle parking but was told that all of the bike parking spots we hold in the building are currently allocated and that they will actually need to decrease the number allocated at some point as we are looking to sublet some of our existing floor space.
At the time I accepted this and have just been locking my bike at street level and right next to a busy tube station. Curently ride in nearly every day, lock it up, wander into the bike parking/showers and then on my way back up I put on an extra, heavier lock that I bought.
I have since enquired again as the crappier months of weather approach (hoping to keep my bike out of the elements) and was again told that we have no available spots. I have argued with our facilities people that the bike parking is never even close to being full and that there are also dozens of spaces allocated to motorcycle parking when there are never more than 2-4 motorcycles. I think our building allocated spots based on the number of stands available (this type) which they could reasonably park two bikes on. The facilities people claim that they have asked the building about providing more spots but that the building management say our company doesn't even use all of the spots allocated so they won't add any which is true because many people don't ride in regularly if at all.
I am going to raies it again and push the angle of being a good employer but my question is if my employer has some legal obligation to provide these facilities or to make them available to me since they are avalable to others?
TLDR; Employer has no more bike parking slots to allocate and claim building management wont give them more despite bike parking never being close to full and easy changes to add more. Looking for advice.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the heads up and I have been struggling with this to be honest. My current S5 doesn't allow me to achieve a low enough front end for what I want so doing the sizing on it and replicating on a new bike doesn't make sense. Obviously the integrated cockpit looks great but it is quite impractical from a fitting perspective and by the looks of it, many of the Movistar and Katusha riders actually use a tradional bar/stem setup.
The stem is 1 1/4" inch which is really only made by Canyon, Giant and Ritchey. I jumped on this frame due to the pricing (under £3k for di2 and Cosmic Pro Carbons plus just loving the look of the bike) but have it in my mind to take them up on the 30 day guarantee if I can't make the sizing work.
Any thoughts? Was also planning to speak to the fitter beforehand to try to find ways to make a session pratical. Maybe see if I can get something like an initial 30 min session just to see if frame size works and estimate a stem length to allow me to decide on the best setup/if it works at all and then get in for a full fitting once I am more preapred kit wise.

Checked the site a couple of times yesterday and the 2016 Aeroad SLX 7.0 di2 popped up as being available in S late in the day so I jumped on it. Im literally on the edge of their sizing but prefer a lower front end anyway so happy to go smaller. With the integrated cockpit the obvious concern is the inability to change the stem length but they claim that they can exchange the cockpit for a longer one once I have received the bike and given it a test. Ill probably book a proper fitting for shortly after I receive the bike to get some help on it.
Looking forward to the delivery date!

At best and using the limited information I would have recorded any collision as 50/50. Just because you can squeak in front of another vehicle doesn't mean you have priority. I agree with the general principle of giving priority to the more vulnerable road user however.
He sure didn't appear to ride with fear. Was continually weaving through riders/vehicles all the way into London Bridge.

Saw a guy in Borough this morning dressed in full motocross body armour including full face helmet and goggles with a headmounted GoPro, two very bright front lights running, both his rear lights flashing and dressed in all black with a black backpack.
Please explain to me how, given all the other saftey features, it is a good idea to be dressed all in black if you were to be riding in the dark.

Shit, just got to Gracac in Croatia today to visit some of my wife's family so I missed @hippy coming through. Been travelling for a few days but was wondering if this would be a popular route.
See @bananaskid is headed this way though so hopefully will catch him rolling through town.

Anyone see what led to the motorcycle down about 500m south of Blackfriars bridge this evening? Was on the opposite side of the road from the cycle lane around 6:45pm.
