I need to chop up a wall of tall Ikea Metod units to fit the apex ceiling, similar to what we’ve done in the photo. I had family help doing then bulk of the kitchen but lockdown means flying solo on the last wall. Most of the cuts will only be visible inside the units with one cut outward facing. Would rather they were all as neat as possible though. I feel the finish can be improved over some in the pic.
Is there a hand saw blade most suited to this or for the borrowed jigsaw?
The Metabo above?
For the most visible cut I haven’t decided if it’ll be straight mitre cut or variable to get it a bit closer to the apex profile like the cooker hood. -

So, woken up to no lights working in the house except kitchen, no kitchen sockets and only some sockets working in the rest of the house. Nothing tripped in the fuse box and all on separate circuits.
I didn’t change the dimmer switch mentioned up thread but a few weeks ago I did change some toggle switches. Will check all those connections first in daylight. Any other recommendations before I try and track down an electrician?

IVAR hacks are looking really great! Currently unavailable though, sadly, but have some ideas for elsewhere in the house. I can’t face any more Metod bits as the horror of doing the kitchen is still too fresh in my mind.
There are some clearance Bo Concept pieces that might work well too. At RRP it all seems really overpriced.

@Sheppz @Tenderloin
Some really nice bits on their sites, thanks for sharing.We’ve just moved to Bath. Not sure we can drop £3K with all the other house bits going on.
Skagerak Jut and Hay New Order were the off the shelf contenders but could do with longer and much more storage.

Does this wiring look suspect? It’s a double dimmer. One dimmer controls some overhead lights. The other dimmer we have no idea what it’s meant to control as never worked. Possibly some wall lights on the kitchen wall. Kitchen wall and overheads also controlled by toggle switches on another wall. In the pic, the upside down dimmer with two live wires is non functioning.
There are two cables with L, N, E and then a third Live.I have a new posh dimmer I can swap in with like for like wiring but would rather not destroy it if this already looks suspect. Am thinking this gets added to an electricians list later in the year whilst I tidy the wall around.

Looking for dining table recommendations... around 180x 75cm, solid wood top, £1k ish tops, rectangular.
Really like the &Tradition In Between SK5 but it’s too wide and I want to avoid veneers.
Was keen on an Ercol Plank in black or a dark stain but it’s a bit shorter than ideal at 152cm.
