For the record: recently bought a Charge Plug 0, advertised as having a drilled rear drop out. Turned out that mine didn't. Entered into correspondence with Charge; eventually they checked some more bikes and admitted that someone seems to have forgotten about drilling the holes.

I was advised to use P clips and come back for the 2017 bike which will have holes added.

I should have said that this is using a starter that's being kept at room temp and is fairly active. One that's been in the fridge for a while will likely need a couple of days of feeding to wake it up.

For those ones, I mixed up a few spoons of starter with 200g flour and enough water to make a very wet dough, and left that to brew up for 24 hours. Then added that to 1kg of flour and did as described up thread.

Previous weekend, I did it all in one day, using about 100g of starter straight into the main mix, and it works out ok as well.

Ok, let me know whereabouts you are, I will bung some in a jam jar and hand it over.

I'm mainly in Euston during the working day and mainly walthamstow the rest of the time.

Basic recipe for those loaves:
80% strong white flour
20% wholemeal rye flour
10 grammes salt per 1kg flour
660 grammes water per 1kg flour (possibly a splash more, depending on how wet your starter is)

Depending on how warm your kitchen is and how active your starter, it may be possible to make the bread in one day, ie combine all the ingredients, knead a tidy tad, leave for two hours, knead a tiny tad, leave for another two hours or so (until dough has increased in size by approx 50%) knead again, shape loaves and put into those wicker basket things to prove,which may take 3 or 4 hours. Bake in a hot oven, ideally on a baking stone, for about 40 - 45 mins.

Those loaves were made with about 600g of flour each.

Sourdough starter is nice and bubbly. Happy to supply some if anyone wants.

I'm sure that is equally valid. I did once consider valves or class A and high sensitivity speakers but never got round to doing anything about it. I would be interested to hear that kind of set up.

There are lots of different paths to happiness. You can get some great kit at Richer Sounds etc. I got a little Denon thing and some monitor audio speakers there, made a really good system for very reasonable money.

But I still enjoy the less sensible many boxes approach as well.

"appropriate power" is an interesting discussion point... My view is that more is more when it comes to output headroom. I appreciate that not everyone agrees, however I'm happy with the results of the "power first" philosophy, arrived at through trial and error, before I'd read stuff like this:

@chrisbmx116 "better" is always subjective, especially in audio-land where generally, no-one agrees about anything. The Audiolab is something of a classic which you couldn't really say of the Yamaha, even though I don't doubt that it would do a decent job.

Meridian 205s feeding Spendor A5s in "snug"
Meridian 557 feeding Linn Keilidhs in kitchen.
It's not a purist approach but I like the results. Apologies for the spaghetti cabling; must tidy that up at some point.
