All of these years later, & I'm now on the hunt for my (using a soon to be built Columbus Air tubeset) replica of Lemond's '89 BOTTECCHIA TT bike, with which he not only made up the 50-second deficit that Fignon (RIP) had on him before the final TT stage but then won the Tour in the final stage by a mere 8 seconds! I own EVERYTHING ELSE required to complete the build once it's built & then painted up perfectly...

However, I now require an appropriate seatpost to fit a Columbus AIR frame that comes with the tear-drop shaped seat tube, rather than the other type of AIR seat tubes, which were able to accommodate a regular, round seatpost.

So if ANYONE sees this email & either a) owns a suitable seatpost that he/she is happy to sell to me or b) knows of an alternative to the original Columbus AIR, Motobecane Profil 3 or Shimano AX seatposts - either an original model or a viable option re: someone who is able to produce an appropriate seatpost from alloy, carbon or whatever, then PLEASE let me know!!

Thanks heaps to anyone who has read this message & cheers & best wishes to all...Matt.

PS. mattforrester73@gmail.com or @lavielemond on Twitter if either of those are more suitable.

    Hey Vince,

Thanks for the reply, mate...apologies for how belated my response is but I've been back in hospital, requiring more surgery - fun!!

I ended up buying two pair of the QT-EXE brake levers from eBay - not the ones with the button on the outer side for cable tension adjustment, but just alloy levers, black hoods & they will be painted up perfectly to look identical to the 440 Mavic levers by my 'master painter' in Hungary!!

But I'm still on the lookout for a pair of original Mavic 440 levers, if anyone has a pair that they wish to sell?

Cheers & best wishes from "Down Under", mate...Matt.

Which model of Shimano 600 headset are you after? The 6200 or 6400 'tricolour' with standard bearings, or the 6500 with sealed cartridge bearings? I have several of the latter, after getting rid of all of my 6400 'tricolour' headsets because they're massively inferior to the 6500 IMO...

    Cheers...Matt.

    Hey bukietowa,

I'm not sure for whom that troc-velo link (copied & pasted above) was intended but I can't seem to open it, if it was in fact intended for me? And if it was intended for me, thank you very much nonetheless, any attempt to assist me are greatly appreciated!

Does ANYONE have (or have access to) a pair of either 821 shifters or 440 brake levers for sale?!

Cheers & best wishes for now...Matt.

    Hey all,

In order to complete my Mavic component collection for my '89 Team ADR-Agrigel replica Bottecchia, I now require a pair of Mavic 821 (7-speed indexed) shifters & Mavic 440 brake levers...please!!

Below are the Velobase.com links to examples of each of the components, especially as the shifters are not branded in any way...so some people would own them & not realise that they do, I'm guessing?!

    Hi Mark,

I'm just wondering whether yours are the ones that are presently for sale upon eBay?

And if not, do you still have them (or 821 shifters or 440 brake levers), by any chance?

    Thanks for your time...cheers & best wishes...Matt.

    Bike24 are AWESOME!!

I'm from Australia & between them & Ribble, I've always been covered fully for both range & pricing -the two companies are MILES ahead of Chain Reaction & Wiggle on range & price IMHO.

Hope that helps...cheers & best wishes from "Down Under"...Matt.

Hey guys, I know that I'm responding to emails that are 3 & 2 years old respectively but I just thought that if anyone ends up landing upon this brief forum topic in the future, I own a brand new in the box Stronglight JDX94 headset, complete with the aforementioned & incredibly rare tool, as well as the instructions. I will probably never use the headset, so perhaps someone may wish to purchase it from me? Or if someone wanted to be a little bit of a home handyman, I would happily trace the tool perfectly & then email the tracing to you, so that you could fabricate your own headset tool? I don't think that it would be very difficult, as it's really quite a basic tool when one looks at it. If someone needs one & hasn't even seen what the tool looks like, a seller in Spain recently sold one & the tool is shown within his photos - here is the link - http://www.ebay.com/itm/STRONGLIGHT-JDX-94-HEADSET-25-4-X-24-ITALIAN-NEW-/221783714079
Oh, & I'm located in Australia, by the way...I guess that I should mention that!!
Cheers & best wishes to all from "Down Under"...Matt.
