We are selling our 1995 Schwinn Homegrown bike with lots of funky parts. It has recently been serviced and is in top condition!
We are not entirely sure about the exact make of each of the parts (as we didn't get a list from the previous owner and some of the parts are really quite old), but here are rough specifications:
Frame: Red & black 1995 Homegrown Suspension (cross between XT and USA version)
Forks: A later version of Judy SL (maybe 1997)
Brakes: AVID tri-align Cantilever Brake Set
Crankset and hubs: White Insutries
Rear derailleur: Shimano XTRPrice: We were thinking about £3000 but are happy to hear your best offers or any other feedback on the price!
Location: This bike is for pickup in London (NW8, Primrose Hill).

Hello everyone! I am a guest posting here as I inherited a vintage mountain bike and, as I will be leaving the UK soon, want to identify the bike / its parts to prepare for selling it. I unfortunately don't know much about bikes so I appreciate any help! What I do know though is that it is apparently a very nice bike full with desirable parts that especially collectors might be interested in.
Thanks for the feedback, guys! I did mean it when we said we wanted to hear thoughts on the price and consider lowering it, so fair enough. I think @hippy got it right in that it's a niche vintage bike, so price estimates are hard to come by and its value is subjective. Schwinn 1995 Homegrowns are not listed or sold often, and plus, we've heard from multiple interested bike mechanics who are familiar with these models that it'll be worth lots to some and not to others. Often, when we bring it into the shop or ride it around, people will take photos of it and say similar things.
We've seen comparable price estimates on Bikepedia: ([1] https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?item=32639; [2] https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?item=32640). Like the link from @hippy, frames alone are listed and sold for hundreds of pounds (1995 bare frame listed here https://www.ebay.com/itm/224555565293?hash=item34488e00ed:g:2M4AAOSwS7hhA1gR), and we've invested hundreds in tuning up the bike, esp the shocks and brakes, over the years. So along with the unique combo of custom add-ins, we thought to start there.
We're happy to lower the price substantially for a best offer, and it seems like we just need to find a buyer who's a good fit who's already very interested in vintage Schwinn Homegrowns as a collector's piece. We'll keep posting elsewhere, happy to hear honest feedback.
