My recently acquired Muddy Fox Courier Comp! Over 30 years ago my uncle bought this brand new... Now I am lucky enough to call it mine. It is probably one of the most enjoyable bikes I have ridden to date.
As you can see it does not have the original seat nor the original stem fitted... I imagine this was to make it more comfortable for my uncle. Luckily I do have the original parts! The bike works wonderfully but of course to bring it back to it's former glory it needs a little tlc...
Would love to know everyone's thoughts and suggestions on what to do with it! Hopefully to get it on the level of @Tijs and @birofunk MF's
Yes I was trying to figure that out by zooming in on your bike. I couldn't tell you though...
The spokes are quite abit too far gone in terms of rust so the wheel could do with a rebuilt... maybe even a new wheelset completely?
Rear cog is also very corroded so intend to swap that out.
It needs a new seat, perhaps a Brooks B17.
I'd like to change out the stem for something with a little bit more reach... the height is fine I like the relaxed riding style but more reach would be perfect.
Recommendations for wheelsets, rear cog, seat and a stem would be greatly appreciated!
