Skinny tyres do cut through the bog better

he's fine...
I'd like to point your attention to post #133 of this thread.. Although I should be bike-worthy again in 4w, so might even have a hint of fitness for this one!

Less fitness chat please. There's been no athletes attend a badger ride since @youramericanlover left us

But he rides in... MUD!
The horror!

I now have a real mountain bike, with suspension and everything.
Wat.
Back in my day it was either fully rigid 29ers or cross bikes that were the options! No reasonably-priced bread pudding for you!

Back in my day 29ers didn't even exist. Even now I think my 26:29 ratio is >4:1.

Mmmmmm, reasonably priced

Are there any e-mtb hiring places in this foresty forest?
-
• #160
You can hire an e-cargo bike from Hackney https://www.cargobikeshare.cc/
Limit capacity to 80kg of laod though, not sure that's enough beer for you to make it to Epping Forest..

I'm expecting the organiser to provide a comprehensive list of resupply points (pubs)

That's a big gruop to haul around the forest.. How many do you expect to lose along the way?
-

Standard dropout rate ( before the ride ) on lfgss can be around 50% so shouldn't be too huge a group :-)
Dropout during the ride isn't unknown, but is very rare, and even the noobiest of noobs have made it round with nothing worse to show for it than a craving for a new bike

He doesn't do lists

Looks like I will be part of those dropping out after all. The broken collarbone has had a snowball effect on my summer holidays plans and as it currently stands, I will be riding trails in Italy that weekend.
In the remote chance this pushes back by a week, I'll be back in the mix!
Just fit a slightly lower gear
