  • I'm going well, my whole spring has been focused on sunday. I'm expecting attacks but I back myself to follow the moves.

    #rep :)

  • @OneLessCardigan yeah I'm going to try and jump in/on the route somewhere.

  • @jdmitch
Sorry I replied to the organiser's recent 'final check' email saying that I couldn't attend and could they confirm my place had been reassigned, which they.

  • @hoefla Thanks dude. Message sent. Will gladly take another if anyone cant make it for my buddy.

    cheers!

    xx

  • @ChainBreaker I would suggest LMNH, then that one that Ramseye mentioned * (think it's actually in Rotherhithe near the tunnel, a Sam Smith's pub that I recall hanging out in after Dunwich one year waiting for Southwark Cyclists' Van Full of Bikes, also stopped there on Mack's West/South/East ride recently), then Gypsy Hill Tavern.

    *Found it, Bermondsey really.

  • It sounds to me like you have all the ingredients for a 47/17 bike if you can get chain right! Slightly easier on the hills.

  • I did plan to do my silly run-it-backwards version again but I'm in Manchester. No running up hills for me, enjoy the pub.

  • What's running?

  • Isn't that what blades do?

  • ..A rare miss, Oliver.

  • I sadly can't make this year. Shame as the weather looks more promising than last year. So if someone would like to donate and take my place let me know. Have fun everyone

  • Different BCDs means it's on rear cog only. The 49 front chain ring is on the Harry Quinn which is more comfortable but the better gearing is on the Mercian but as its a bit big not quite a good fit.

Choices are better gearing or more comfortable ride. Currently leaning toward to ride

  • There's a lot more riding than hill climbing...

  • ^ yeah this, a significant number of people walk up some of the hills, so even if you end up doing that, it'll hardly be in bad company. And you'll want to be comfortable on the pave
    (what BCD btw?)

  • I'm not overly worried. I've ridden one bike to Brighton and the other to dunwich so done miles on both. The HQ has risers so I find a bit more comfortable on longer rides but it's the sugino 75s with a 49 chain ring and the Mercian has drops with campag record s and 47. I've not ch eck bcd (campag is 144) but I'll be fine on either.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow though

  • Decided not to go as have a spot of tendonitis which needs resting. Got too excited this week after 4 months off the bike and went too hard. Ankle wasn't liking it. Took part the past 2 years and it's lots of fun.

PM me if you'd like my place and can make a donation to the charity they're supporting.

  • @ipete Did you get a place? Maybe PM @ChrisMGS !

  • Pete just took my place, so it's no longer available :)

  • i'll be there and ready to roll by 9:30. Stupid orange bike so i'll be in the slowwwwwwww group. :)

  • Just finished my nasty build. If you will spot 90's daccordi with FSA cranks (told you its a nasty one) please dont laugh and say hi, planning to start 10ish.

  • Last minute drop-out here. Have notified Cobblemonster via email.

    Next year.

  • If the sun shows up, I might just have to bring the Klein out to play. I'm sure the oversized alloy tubing will smooth out the road surfaces.

  • Ohhh.
    Klein-in-sun.
I will have to come out to see (and salivate).
    Have a fab ride peeps.
Hope to join you for apres-cobble :)
Cafewanda. Get out of your bed and come to the pub in the afternoon.

  • Catch you guys there, hoping for a 10:00 ish start, on my Look 186 got it together yesterday hope it holds up.

    Andy
