I’m gonna ride out / back from central

Indra wouldn't be seen dead on a train, so he's ok
-
• #104
Tom's journey is fucked :'(

• #105
Could you bring the SPD pedals on trip 1 and leave them with a friend if I’m not there?
I should start looking for those soon

"London Overground Sat 20 and Sun 21 July Liverpool Street to Enfield Town, Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) and Chingford"
Definitely the same the following weekend... I'm happy to ride down to Tottenham Hale and ride up with people from there, or alternatively ride up from where Forest Road intersects the forest ( @psg1ben @Cloak/Dagger where we met last time).
-
• #107
Yeah happy to meet people at Tot Hale
-
• #108
I'll be riding out from Kings Cross.

thinking about this /or/ reverse-to-source-of-Lea, this weekend.
For:
Looks like more fun
Don’t end up in Marsh Farm, Luton
Don’t have to eat unidentifiable meat/veg slurry while my parents go full brexit : /Against:
No knobblies
Never done a group ride
The Groucho Marx thing...Given the state of the trains, what are the new meeting points/times? I’ll be coming from Archway... ta!

For:
Looks like more fun
The 'funnest' thing going!
Don’t end up in Marsh Farm, Luton
Definitely not going there
Don’t have to eat unidentifiable meat/veg slurry while my parents go full brexit : /
Non - brexity group ( to my knowledge ) and only the finest cake to eat
Against:
No knobblies
How non-knobbly are those tyres? The trails will be pretty dry right now, so low pressures and taking it easy may well be ok
Never done a group ride
I have it on good authority that these are the the best group rides ever for people not keen on cycling groups ;-)
The Groucho Marx thing...
I wouldn't want to join a group like that either. Possibly why I had to start one :-)
Given the state of the trains, what are the new meeting points/times? I’ll be coming from Archway... ta!
At the moment, I'm still meeting people at Chingford ( unless nobody is going there? ), while I think @Howard is ok meeting people at Tottenham hale to ride up the rest of the way this weekend, and @Dogs is leading a few up through the lower sections of forest on the 20th?

Nice one : )
Tyres are Marathon Supremes 50-559s, but I’ll stick to the back, so I can fall into a ravine and not take anyone with me. -
• #112
but I’ll stick to the back
That job is taken am afraid.

• #113
Is anyone going from SW London? Must admit, I’m not stoked on getting there with the train situ
-
• #114
Eesh. This is why I’m overnighting in N19 and not starting from Tooting Bec.
Don’t you have aNorth London LineOverground option from Clapham Jct via Willesden to somewhere north-east? Or is that sharted? -
• #115
I'm taking a train to Kings Cross from Tooting and will ride from there to Chingford. Will probably ride all the way back.
-
• #116
I got the overground last time I went but it’s near enough 2 hours for the full journey!
-
• #117
Always better to ride out if you can imo
-
• #118
Yeah, can just ride up from Limehouse basin on the route path etc, think it took me 70 mins last time I rode from Walthamstow to Parts and Labour. Extra points for anyone that rides that bridge at Bromley by Bow (good run up required)
-
• #119
I rode back from Epping to Putney the other week and it sucked once I was back in the city. I’d rather not do that again both ways. I’ll see if I can get closer on the train and ride up a bit of the way
-
• #120
To help me keep track, if people could just put their travel plans next to their name on the list
That'd be great

I could start the rides in Walthamstow, but would need to know if I'm picking anyone up from Chingford on the way :-)
-
• #123
People are quite good at not telling me stuff, then wondering where I am...
-
• #124
I’ll head out a bit earlier so if anyone wants a guided ride out from Tottenham Hale let me know and we’ll sort timing.

From what I can see, this means you could train it up to Tottenham Hale and then ride the canal up to Chingford, or go to Ponders End, via Stratford.
If anyone wants to use those alternatives, I can arrange to meet you and guide you from there :-)
