Can't comment on route quality as I haven't been to these exact trails, but looks like we will have at least 3 villages/towns on day 1 for re-supply. Last one, Crickhowell, at km 49 out of 70.
Estimate we may leave Crickhowell well after dark so urge everyone to have fully charged lights. I will carry a ±10000mAh battery pack with two USB ports.
I see at least two places for re-supply on day 2. Good stuff. -

I can't commit 100% this far in advanced due my current work situation. For now it's a yes, but this may change closer to the event.

might be because my screenshot was with a 16-25 railcard?

Thanks everyone.
To be clear, don't book trains until 7 days in advance, when we will be able to see the weather forecast. If it's good we then need to book ASAP to secure bike spaces on the long distance service. -

Ah that’s it then

Just checking some kit, testing out packing methods. What do we do if the bothy is full/there isn't enough room for all? Is anyone bringing a tent?
-
• #59
OK, fingers crossed for bothy space! Also - fuel for the stove - I guess we take our chances, the unattractive alternative being to carry logs in ourselves (not keen for this option...)
-

Gas canister for cooking stove is obviously a separate fuel, that's fine!
-
• #61
bothy stove - buy wood in crickhowell before the final climb, not much each as it's split between us
food stove - bring your own gas/meths -
• #62
Ah OK - I like your planning.
-
• #63
I can bring a tent fly for 2 or 3 if we think we're gonna need it.

perfect bike. I used to live in Bristol and ride this area often. -

I have a tarp and can arrange a 2 men tent if anyone wants to carry them.

Yeah, way out of my depth. I'll have to choose between London-Paris-London or a 200 audax instead :)

sad saturday update - the weather looks really crap for next weekend at the moment.
will wait a few days and then decide what to do. at the moment looking likely I'll find another route somewhere else and postpone this to 2019.

Looks like heavy rain the whole week and then more rain. Shame, was looking forward to this.
We could do the whole of North Downs. It's close enough to bail and return home for the night if need be. -
• #72
Ooh, sounds good.

This is very distressing. Pray4wales

It does seem slightly mad to head out if the weather forecast is abysmal. There's braving the rain, and then there's what on earth are you doing...

Do you mean the north downs route planned by suztrans and recently featured in STW?
Train prices have increased:
