If you can't get it sorted, I'm sure between us we can fix it up for you

Original post has been updated with route and general details.

If you have another one in spring (and a lot shorter) I will definitely attend that.

@veLLo do you want to meet us along the way at some point?
Thanks but looking at the route that won't be possible sorry... Where I assume the "stop point" for lunch/beer to be will be too far from central London, also the route terminates far from London, which means mucho miles (the tandem does not allow long distances, too old, heavy, single speed, and most importantly untrained riders!)... Only solution for us would be to do the first half instead, providing the half break isn't too far, but we would need to ask you to start a bit later (11.00) which it's not fair to you guys, as we will be very slow and compromise your rythm...
Same answer as I_am_Hingis... in the spring, shorter, etc...
Have fun fun fun guys!

Tandem clean and shiny, with fresh chains now on. Just got to sort out the rear mudguard and then it's on.

You guys aren't worthy of fresh bar tape though.

Just noticed you've double-brooksed. Classy.

Disappointed to hear this

Can we have a slow tandem ride before next spring though?
In the meantime... why are you guys ending the ride near Sidcup? If there's ride back to London after, and you have a final drink then, depending on the time, we could meet you for a beer and pretend that we rode with you?

I just got bored of plotting, route follows itself back in. Final beers are a good idea. Maybe Ivy House, Peckham? Enough tandem sized outdoor space. That or ravensbourne arms on the oh so scenic a21 of the top of my head.

Or PS! I have a feeling a lot of this will be on the fly. Rosie's pretty good at texting from the stoker seat though so will keep you updated :)

Is that another way of saying "Rosie is always messing about on the back playing with her phone, not paying attention and it drives me crazy"?
-
• #41
Oi! I hardly ever mess around with my phone on the back of the tandem. It's usually the camera, or a bag of Haribo.
Really looking forward to this. I love tandems.

Oh wow. Just realised this is tomorrow. Whoop! See you all by the bmx track in Burgess park at 10am :)

But if route follows itself back in, doesn't it mean your ride is actually like 55 miles or more? You crazy people!
BUT, if beers happen in the afternoon, it would be very nice of Rosie / you to text (Ian / keeping it steel would also be interested in beers I believe...) and it would be a pleasure to meet! (Depending what time Jingle Jangle comes to pick-up the Witcomb...)
Have a nice ride peeps! Rosie, please take a lot of pictures when you're not too busy with haribo bags... -

@tricitybendix I will happily bring you some (lots?) of Haribo to Cycles PS if you make sure that Tom is well and truly broken for Sundays ride

I need to give Ian his spacers back too. Will keep you both updated. I stoked hovis's tandem this eve. Not as terrifying as I though it would be.

Somewhat to my surprise my other half has authorised me to get a tandem in the future, so I may have some tandem-related questions to raise next time you are down SEs.

Timing chain sorted, tandem delivered. Looking forward to a wobbly potter to Burgess Park to see y'all tomorrow.
