It's Flying Ant Day!
Yup.
Kew Bridge just came alive with the fuckers. They are everywhere. Going to go find a clear pair of cycling glasses amongst my box of spare accessories.

For some reason these kind of natural events make me very happy, despite the unwanted ingestion/eye contact/ hair catching etc that goes along with it.

Of course, the other way is to go into your Garmin, and find the original outbound DD route, and opt to have that always show on the map.
You wouldn't have turn by turn... but you'd have the route and could follow it either direction.

Just wear your sunglasses at night so you can, so you can, keep track of the visions in your eyes...

In all seriousness, is there a group riding fixed still around?

So that was my first DD, everything about it was awesome apart from the four hour coach journey home, which was hell.

Were you on the 11:30? That was so long and then the van for the bikes didn't come until 30 mins later. I'm not even home yet!

Nah, was on the 10am, didn't leave until 10.30 ish and then we got to Surrey Quays at about 2.45. I'm tall as well, so took the back seat in coach for legroom but was essentially sat atop the very warm engine in the only seat that didn't recline. Felt dreadful. Oh and my bike got scratched in the truck :'(
Edit: I felt fine riding through the night, not too tired and we didn't really stop until Sudbury, but felt weird once the sun came up - like those mornings where you leave a party or club or something and the day's already begun and you're all fucked up.

Good night out. Met some really nice folks. Funny watching the various post ride walking styles! Breakfast epic. Service from the beach cafe fantastic. Ipswich station staff couldn't be more helpful. Thank you. Knackered.
