Is the light bar for night driving or for aesthetics?
I'm tempted to get some rocklights for night driving. I found the lightbar quite annoying as it just blinds you.
It does look great in low light though

Very much aesthetics.

I this RC thread merge or it's own thing? 🤔

I'd say it's separate enough a niche.

Sweet Jesus. Had no idea this was a thing! This is not good. Not good at all.

Honestly the Traxxas is indestructible. I've had it rolling end over end down embankments and nothing yet has snapped. I'm not one of these try and catch it when it rolls over type of people.

I cracked the body on my tracker the other day and snapped the snorkel off.... but it was a big drop directly onto rocks.
Everything works fine though, it just toppled over half way up a small cliff

It was a bit top heavy with all the scale nonsense on top (even with the brass down low).
So I took it all off. Performs better but doesn't look as good.
Matchbox 'RC car' on top, with a tiny 3d printed transmitter.

My light bar is mounted inside the shell, shining through the front window, and then one behind the bumper.
Mine is 100% for night time driving though. This was the bar, super bright.

Inside is good idea.

My light bar is part of the roof rack. I unfortunately put it on a bit wonky.

Spent a bit too much time looking at the Cross RC website and YouTube today. The 1/8 scale trucks look amazing.

Sweet Jesus. Had no idea this was a thing! This is not good. Not good at all.
Pretty tempting rabbit-hole, innit.
How about this wrinkle - an FPV cam at driver's perspective!
Been meaning to stick the one from my fried drone onto a car... Something a lot faster though

There are some nuts set ups for this on YouTube.

I think I'm going to get one of these next.
Fair play to that bloke. Working his arse off to grow his channel. Made the same video in French, English and German.

Fuck yeah! That's the shit

They 'driver' is insane!

Have a look at this one.... it is ludicrous.

I assume that's a 3d scanned resin printed head on the driver because it is very accurate to his face.

Someone needs to make that into a looping gif

In the post:
pre-made light bar (4 spots), some LEDs, a kit of cable/JR1 connectors, and a crimping tool.
First homemade light set will be a red fog for the Kyosho Fantom.

Head torch and car lights along were not quite cutting it. So now have a transmitter mounted light too. You naturally point it at the car so works perfectly.
Did an hour in pitch black woods and it was so much fun

Thanks! I want a light bar for it so am doing a bit of research.
I also want to make up my own LED “looms”. I can easily find the JR1 connectors and crimping tools, but single LEDs with wires ready for connecting… no dice.
