  • It’s a good fit, the bar. I just need to get use to it and add tape now.

  • Jealous of the indoor trainer. Would like to eventually get one to keep my bikes clean when it's disastrous outside. I live on the 3rd floor in an apartment building so alot of cold stares in the elevator back from wet condition rides...

  • Saris metal rollers! I saw the vigorelli thread. Hope Thomson works out. As a person that overtorques (now I have a torque wrench) I chewed through the bolts of a Thomson 25.4 stem trying to secure a nitto handlebar (nitto with nitto is the best). Not the case with all my other stems. I like the new Vig Shark and Steel colorways. As for the bike, I assumed the gravel bar was over 44cm but it was 44 in the tops. FSA energy 42cm much more comfortable especially with a bigger cog (17t, one tooth more). *Shorter drop. I might flip the stem. I probably will. I get bored

  • Yeah, I'm currently waiting to hear back from Cinelli-Milano online store to get the replacement part due to its rare sizing. I'm thinking of doing a modification to the seat cluster configuration to a classic fastback style like my Njs Bomber in-order to convert to a seat pin binder bolt. I was offered a few options while the Vigorelli is down from my son who has since had to end his commute to work by bike. I have yet to contact a builder about the transformation but seeing the willingness of my son to help me out brings warmth to my heart so it will start to take priority over looking for a seatpost collar.

17 tooth cogs are the biz for skid patches and will prolong the life of your tires. Dolan is looking good as per usual and it's good to hear your recovery went well. Stay safe

  • Day one in 17t. The skids are skidding and I keep spinning out on flat. I kept telling myself spin to win to accelerate and get the hell from point a to point b. I didn’t expect it to be that big of a difference. I kinda miss the resistance of 16/15t but I love it all the same. Good thing it’s double fixed and I have a 16t on the other side.

  • Everyone is different, you might prefer grinding over spinning... I only started to turn smaller gears after learning how to stay seated for longer. I stand on the pedals to use my weight to help generate power to turn the pedals and distribute the load on different muscles. The penalty for this is less efficiency in aerodynamics. The loss off efficiency will require you to use more power to maintain the same speed.

  • I do like the carefree climbing I’m dealing with now. 17t would be great for Medellin, Colombia. Obvs real mountains as opposed to my local hill so 47/46 tooth maybe. The bike I have in Colombia is a State Black label v2. Stock drivetrain 48-49?/15 maybe. I’m debating getting a new wheelset, cog and chainring for that. I have bars, stem, seatpost, saddle I plan on swapping when I do visit. I need to swap out the seatpost collar. Seatpost slips even with sandpaper/griptape. *Happy New Year

  • Looks fun! Are you sure the seatpost is the correct size? You shouldn't be able to get sandpaper or grip tape in the seat tube with a post in there as well (unless I'm misunderstanding). Carbon grip paste is very good for stopping slippage if you haven't tried that. Gentler than sandpaper too!

  • I’d have to wait til I go back to find out. I did get all the specs from the internet recently. The replacement parts I do have should fit. I think it’s the collar because prior to the slippage and use of sandpaper, a cyclist trying to help me over torqued the seatpost collar bolt and I heard a cracking noise. Plus, I was 245-250 lbs at the time. @ltc

  • I'm not into the slit design seatpost collar at all. Have never experienced any solid seatpost collars braking/failing before except for stripping the binder bolt. Reminds me of how automobile companies design a flawed product only to create a solution they can sell you after warranty expires. Having worked at a car repair shop that were dealing with used vehicle warranty, I've seen claims denied numerous times with the reasons being normal wear and tear.

The Black label looks good with the raw looking finish. The oversized oval downtube reminds me of a 6ku track aluminium that I commuted for a few years before getting the Cinelli. It didn't have dropped seat stays like your state but I remember it riding very stiff and lifeless compared to steel framed bikes... It was light though

  • If you need an odd sized seat collar these are the people to talk to.

If by some shift in the time continuum they don’t have one to fit, they’ll make you one and put in on the their list. I have one on my Kish as it’s a I can’t remember, but I struggled to find one size.

  • Great link, just checked it out. I like the option of a silver polished finish to brake up the black color scheme. Think I'm gonna hold out for a reply back from Cinelli online and move forward from there. Prices are comparable but with the company branding and guaranteed to be a perfect fit.
