  • Yes, nice work @hangedup.

Will you record us an explainer video, in character?

  • More that I looked briefly and it was the next day when I looked again (so missed solving completely).

  • 4 under second guess.

  • 4 under. Nice how compact the clue is, but it does mean there's zero uncertainty about how it works...

  • Four under, which is very generous scoring.

Think they got excited about the and-lit.

  • 4 under?!?!?!

  • 4 wonder

  • +4

  • very much par.
    was just guessing.

  • Wunder.

  • Three of the under today

  • 1 over. Really over thought it

  • Three under.

Now, I don't mean to be a minute cryptic dickhead, but I've found some recent clues a little too, erm, not exactly easy, but, erm, unambiguous. Today's is a good example. There's no ambiguity - for someone with a bit of crossword experience - about how words 3 and 4 need to be worked out, nor how words 6, 7 and 8 should be resolved.

I think the best clues leave some doubt about which words are definition, which are mechanics etc, and MC doesn't always manage this.

  • Perhaps you’ve graduated from minute cryptic or were too good for it at the start? It’s just a bit of fun. Like wordle.

  • Anyway I take umbrage with today’s clue because there are many things a senior female could be. Not just that.
