The katu basket is kind of perfect size i feel. It’s basically like a small eurocrate but shorter. This bag is pretty cavernous as well.
I have a weird relationship with the katu where i get bored move on then build it up again.
I really want to go rohloff but the hub i have presently is a disc brake hub kind of want to find a chap rim brake hub but this is kind of the worst time of year for deals. Bbs01 will also make it super duper fun i think.

Can someone give me the internal measurements of the basket? I’ve left my Katu in Wales and not going for two weeks but want to start the ball rolling on a bag

no worries here’s my go at it - though I’m cack-handed at measuring…
taken from bottom of basket:
width inside (of the radius before it starts bending upwards) - 21.2cm
width outside - 26.7cm
length inside - 40cm
length outside - 43.7cmmight want a second measurer to verify those tho because I’ve had two (2) wines

Do you have the original basket? I was thinking of getting a flat bed fabricated to hang off the bolts at the front so I could either add a crate or use it to carry different shaped items but that was as far as my thinking went

I don't but I'm looking in my packed shed now and I think a pannier rack might be better.

If you change your mind, I drove my Katu on the roof of my car in to a height barrier and smashed the basket which luckily acted as a crumple zone - Orbea sell replacements direct from their website. Part number X4470000.

Take a while to find the time, but really enjoyed this over the last two weekend ...using this as a tryout for making padded bags for my sewing machines for the mobile studio

ehh, sorry, that ^series doesn't show the construction/making of it,
but here it's in Maude-mode, with the orange liner velcro-ed in at the base (figure it's easy for cleaning or whatever if needed), plus velcro-down straps to secure it into the basket;

What’s the stock chainring on a non electric version of this bike?

I think it is a 44.
Starting a little tinkering on this one. Maybe Rohloff and bafang is the way to go.
