Well we've arrived at a geo. I'm going 62cm seat tube 59cm top tube. Bob (bless him) drew up 6 iterations but keeping it simple seemed the best way forward. The instruction has been given to fire up the torch

Although I don't have to yet I've poured over the colour chart and will be going for Emerald green flamboyant with a pearlescent white barber pole. I may line it in silver.

Ta dah! (I think) Nothing fancy I'm afraid in terms of geo. attempts at funk just weren't looking good. Hoiwever I think it will be a fairly usable track iron inot my dotage...Priority was given to redicing the seat to bar drop which can be ridiculouse for long legged riders. the indicated drop is less than the tokyo fixed and the Merckx Pista so I can indulge in fitting Nitto NJS track drops on it.

Lovely. Will look mint in flam green. I think they've done well with the geometry, too. A 74-degree seat will give that little extra bit of reach compared to some big frames - essential for a stable ride with higher bars.

Hmm this is exactly my size! Nice tall headtube and smart move on the seattube angle. Looking forward to this:):)

What is the lead time?

Bob reckons around 4-5 weeks. I thought that was pretty quick tbh so if it is a bit longer I'm not too fussed.

Quick update.

Whilst travelling I received a call out of the blue to say that the frame is finished and they are ready to paint! This was all a bit qucker than I expected so I've just gone back with the colour choices. the boys at Mercian have forwarded me a piccy of the frame as it currently stands...

Frame is Emerald Green flamboyant (basically looks like the modern BMW MINI BRG), pearl white barber pole with pearl silver barber pole and lug lining. Traditional gothhic Mercian transfers in sliver

The dropouts look a bit agricultural, will they get chrome plated or just nuts straight onto the paint?

As it is 853 oversize the head tube is 1 1/8 which I wanted in order to have greater stem choice. I take your point about the dropouts but there weren't any options. I'll look to use chain tugs and large washers to minimise damage
