Ive got a kinetic which is quite similar.

Anyone know much about getting an old Accurist chronograph repaired. Probably 25 years old now, battery has been replaced but it doesn't work at all. It's an MB642 with calibre CAL6W50. Looks like this
I've emailed Accurist but they said they don't have the parts any more. Any other suggestions? -

Does it have a capacitor? Those are usually the things that go in old quartz watches.

Anyone after a funky 5600? I've got one of these that's surplus to requirements, brand new and unworn:

£90 posted.

It looks like a full dot matrix screen but it's not
Yeah, when I was digging around trying to find watches with a proper dot matrix screen, there were a lot of pretenders... The giveaway is the seven-segment shape of the numbers instead of something nicer.

On the other hand, I have no idea what the champ who came up with this was thinking...

I might have said yes once, but I've just flipped a dozen or so vintage G-Shocks to raise funding for a Hamilton (kept the best ones though; I might be tempted to sell those if I fancy a quartz Hamilton)

Bought a couple of $3 straps on AliExpress, they both look great, this fake Erika is very comfy!

Possibly? Any pointers on what I should look for when I open it up? Cheers

It’s the copper coil. I haven’t done it before but check post #144 for more info: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17389998/

FYI, the £15 'binlun' fake-Erika straps off amazon are that little bit better quality than the cheap aliexpress ones, despite them looking identical. The elastic is a little bit better quality, as is the hardware, which has a nicer finish and a more thoughtful clasp design.
Edit: AliExpress on left, binlun on right, which also has teeth on the central bar so it slips less.

Holy shit, I only just noticed the DBX-100 rocks both styles of four! Bizarre.

Thanks for the tip but this one is doing a pretty good job, I'm not too fussed about these things anymore, cheap and fake is fine.

I'm annoyed at myself for ordering the (slightly) wrong size watch crystal; I can only think I managed to have my calipers out of zero when I originally measured it. If nothing else, it wasn't expensive and another easily found and, of course, it can sit in the spares box until I need it

Revamped an old f-91w with a broken strap that I’ve had for years and switched the display out. Think I preferred the original strap.

As a devout Uno fan, I absolutely couldn't miss getting this to replace my f91w that died after about 10 years as my everyday watch.
Despite the nice uno etched metal strap, Ive just put a rubber one on as don't like the metal ones for all day.
It's got a lovely back plate too.

Was also going to make the tattoo gag, but that’s a cracking watch. Where did you find it.

Right. I bought a cheap shitty portable/wireless iron for a 2 day job and yeah, lasted 1.5 days...
It's only for work so I'm not too upset. Buy cheap, buy twice eh.
I see a pinecil in my future. But it has been bugging me, how do you pronounce it?
Pin-eh-sil or pine-sil? -
• #174
Haha yeah it'd be a pretty good tat to get!
My f91w broke, went to order a replacement, saw it advertised on the Casio site, couldn't say no, as a big uno fan. (Finally got a set of the Keith Haring UNO Artiste series the same day funnily enough!).

I guess that depends whether you'd pronounce Pine64 as pin-eh64 or not?
Had a moment almost to myself this morning in Charmouth, when I grabbed a coffee and the kids were happily playing.
Probably could have got a more glamorous photo later today in Lyme, but I’m fairly sure my wife would have mercilessly mocked me for taking a photo of my watch
