Hamas are accelerationists. Netanyahu is a warmonger walking into the trap they set for him. They’re all cunts and innocents are dead as a result.
Aaron Bastani is a fucking joke pretending to be a journalist and anyone quoting his tweets and getting indignant about it needs to look up the term ‘confirmation bias’ and take a long hard look at themselves.
Not saying that the Israelis did or did not bomb the hospital - how could I possibly know? - but Jesus wept, Bastani is not who you turn to for anything like truth.

To be clear, I was replying to your earlier post about what motive Israel would have - given the outcomes of such acts, and their hi tech, highly precise (not that they ever care about precision in practice) military equipment.

Why claim to have the warhead but not produce the evidence?
-
• #455
Because saying you have it will be enough evidence for most.
Actually showing evidence of it might mean having to find a warhead from another strike site (of which there are many) and also open you up to further scrutiny. -
• #456
For most, really?

In your view, what’s the trap?

Over-reaction.

100%. I agree with you on nearly everything @Sumo but I do feel @kl has a point.
Bastani is not a good source.

To be clear I only posted that tweet because it has the C4 clip embedded. Many other people have posted it but that's the one I found first. No idea who bastani is, I don't follow him.
The comment in the tweet is irrelevant, it's the video I was pointing out. -

I hadn't signed into X/Twitter much before this whole situation, but boy is it annoying. It took some adjustment seeing everyone with a badge and at first, thinking they're a media personality when they're not. It's still a good source to find stuff - especially local footage - before any channel or paper puts their spin on it. But I guess the above is a good reminder to check all sources.
Another thing I've noticed while trying to dig for some stuff on X and insta, I noticed many fake, bot accounts whose sole purpose was spreading pro-Israeli and anti-Palestinian agendas, normally always liked and upped by Indians lol.

Bastani’s pretty damn good for long-form analysis, imo.
Twitter in general is just not a good source for truth in war.

What's the issue with Aaron Bastani? I think he and the rest of Novara Media are generally excellent

Israeli police have been using their stop and search powers which usually just allow them to check ID to now ask people on the street to open their phones and they are scanning Telegram and Whatsapp for any anti-war sentiment at which point you go to jail overnight without charges for a bit of the old "thought crime"

Something I haven’t seen considered here so far is motive.
OK, I'll take this one. If you don't want the refugees to return, you destroy the things they left so there's nothing for them to come back to. Hospitals are where babies are born, so I'd say it's a pretty good target if you're doing ethnic cleansing.
"... A number of the towns and villages were destroyed by Israeli forces in the aftermath of the 1948 war, but it was not until 1965 that more than 100 remaining locations – including many of the largest depopulated places – were demolished by the Israel Land Administration.[4] ..."

Speaking to someone earlier who is usually very balanced in her views.
She thinks that everything that is happening and has happened in the last 50 years is all the fault of Palestine - losing land? “They should stop starting wars they cannot win”, the current moving out of homes “that’s to protect them from being bombed” etc. - with no separation between Hamas and Palestine, Palestine and Hamas and that the current ‘approach’ from Israel is proportionate.
I figured the conversation was going nowhere productive so moved the topic on but was surprised at the strength/passion of the views expressed by someone I’d thought was a lefty passivist.

Yeah, the concern I have is that this won't happen until after it's too late - not that it'll be their fault.

Seems that this was on a bus stop on green lanes...not green lanes Newington green road at start of green lanes.
All three on just one bus stop, hard to remove as I tried.

Yup, they've also bombed the Palestinian side of the Rafah border. Egypt said they're going to have rebuild the roads to get any aid across. Not to mention Israel told people who aren't Hamas to head for that border, then immediately bombed it.
