  • I wouldn't be too surprised, but at the same time I only saw Israeli outlets (like i24) picking up the fact that Al-J removed the story which raised more questions than answers. I guess the stories don't meet journalistic standards or were refuted by Hamas themselves, so fair enough.

Around the same time, some of those outlets reported that US officials are accusing the IDF of systematic rape but given the timing, this is probably more general than al-Shifa specific. E.g.: https://m.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-793420

  • Just watched the 10pm BBC news. Interesting take by Israelis being interviewed.
Now anyone else seen the adverts for Isreali beach front property in Gaza?

  • They are just like ruzzians. Accusing others of what they have been doing themselves. Disinformation is spread by useful idiots.

  • Yeah. In recent wars and assaults on Palestine, statements by IDF senior personel, rabbis and others permitted the rape of "attractive gentile women" (pretty mild compared with their recent genocidal calls). It's been a recurring and documented theme since 1948 - elderly Israeli soldiers bragged and laughed off their actions in interviews. Prisoners in the West Bank always have rape and sexual abuse stories to share too.

As for the current claims, I've now seen Dr. Ghassan Abo Sittah - the British-Palestinian surgeon who was in al-Ahli hospital in Gaza when it was struck by Israeli missiles - share reports of multiple rapes at al-Shifa. Given his position and contacts in the hospital, that's far more credible than randoms on social media with a large following. A developing investigation no doubt.

  • Link doesn’t exist?

Separately, Ireland’s announced they’ll be backing SA’s claim against Israel at the ICJ.

  • Link only worked while logged in for me.

Saw a similar clip where four youth were shot while returning to their blown up neighbourhood to see what they could retrieve from their home.

The worst part of all of this evident crime is that the usual suspects aren't doing and won't do shit. As soon as the agressor is another skin colour or something though...

  • The British government has received advice from its own lawyers stating that Israel has breached international humanitarian law in Gaza but has failed to make it public, according to a leaked recording obtained by the Observer.

The comments, made by the Conservative chair of the House of Commons select committee on foreign affairs, Alicia Kearns, at a Tory fundraising event on 13 March are at odds with repeated ministerial denials and evasion on the issue.

    And

The revelation will place Lord Cameron and prime minister Rishi Sunak under intense pressure because any such legal advice would mean the UK had to cease all arms sales to Israel without delay.

Legal experts said that not to do so would risk putting the UK in breach of international law itself, as it would be seen as aiding and abetting war crimes by a country it was exporting arms to.

  • Iran accusing Israel of bombing its embassy in Syria. Major escalation if true, as embassies are generally considered off-limits even during wars. An attack on an embassy can be considered a direct attack on a country, which is why proxy actors are usually used for it instead of warplanes. Using one’s air force makes it either a gloves-off, it’s-go-time aggression or a deliberate provocation seeking retaliation.

    Israel refuses to comment.

  • Same old from IDF

    https://www.rte.ie/news/middle-east/2024/0402/1441140-gaza-israel-latest/

Aid workers hit by IDF airstrike , “ Despite co-ordinating movements with the Israeli Defence Force, the convoy was hit as it was leaving its Deir al-Balah warehouse, after unloading more than 100 tonnes of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza by sea, WCK said.”

  • Looking at the BBC the vehicles had ID marks on the roof and the people had bullet proof vests identifying them as aid workers.

This is at a time when the media access to Gaza is very controlled.

Having issues linking the live pages from the BBC.

  • The killing of the aid workers is going to really hurt Israel. They fucked up badly.
It’s already an optics catastrophe for Biden and the Dems as they approve an $18 Billion aid package for the Israelis military.

  • It is being reported as a coordinated three phase strike, not a one off or a rogue shot;
On Tuesday, the Israeli daily Haaretz published harrowing details of the strike, citing defence sources. According to the report, an Israeli drone fired three missiles one after the other at the convoy of three armoured cars – all of which were clearly marked on the roof and sides with the WCK’s logo – because of a suspicion that an armed militant was travelling with them.

Despite the fact that the suspect did not leave the warehouse with the rest of the group, the cars were hit as they travelled back along a route pre-approved and coordinated with the IDF.

A Hermes 450 drone struck one car, causing some of the passengers to abandon it and switch to the other two. According to Haaretz, the team notified the IDF they had been attacked, but another missile then hit the second car.

Passengers in the third car tried to help the wounded, the paper said. According to the Guardian’s geolocation of the strikes, the last car was hit by a third missile about a mile farther south.

The IDF really are reinforcing their reputation as cunts of the highest order. Better that seven aid workers are killed than one absent militant go free or something.

  • The killing of the aid workers is going to really hurt Israel. They fucked up badly.

It won’t, white supremacy know no bound.

  • A consulate, a hospital and an aid convoy in twenty four hours is some going, if that doesn't force some kind of international backlash nothing will

  • Many aid convoys, all the hospitals in Gaza, lots of innocents escaping via routes that Israel marked as safe escape. Added bonus of Isreali media spread misinformation of baby killings, rape and unwra aid agency lies.

This isn't the first or even the twentieth time that Israel murder people that the Israeli government condendemef (without trial) in many other countries yet there were no sanctions.

Come on years of invading, murder and un Resolutions with nothing happening. What would you do?

  • To be clear- I am not saying Biden cares about Palestinians or Israelis. This is a problem because of what voters think. Biden is having problems already because of US support for Israel.
The left of center voters that Dems were winning over lately are now backing away. Many are sympathetic to the Palestinians.
Trump and Biden are in a dead heat.
Anything that alienates Dem voters or makes them not vote is a disaster.

  • When was the last time a state attacked a embassy or consulate? Your going back to the balkans war when the US bombed the Chinese embassy and the US still claim it was accidental and paid to rebuild it.

As for deaths, yes, sadly the death of Western citizens is treated differently, just look at these front pages
BBC News - Newspaper headlines: Israel's 'tragic' error and Labour 'pro-building' bid

This shines a huge spotlight on Israelis constant claims of robust governance and the safest military campaign. If the government really has received legal advice it is breaching international law by supplying weapons, as I posted a few days ago, this incident will make it far harder for the government to justify ignoring that advice

  • justify

They’re a step away from sticking their fingers in their ears and going ‘lalala can’t hear you’.

The Israeli army has marked tens of thousands of Gazans as suspects for assassination, using an AI targeting system with little human oversight and a permissive policy for casualties

  • Three former supreme court justices, including the court’s former president Lady Hale, are among more than 600 lawyers, academics and retired senior judges warning that the UK government is breaching international law by continuing to arm Israel.

In a letter to the prime minister, the signatories, who also include former court of appeal judges and more than 60 KCs, say that the present situation in Gaza is “catastrophic” and that given the international court of justice (ICJ) finding that there is a plausible risk of genocide being committed, the UK is legally obliged to act to prevent it.
