  • After having moved London -> Manchester and into a pokey loft conversion, going in/out involves navigating 3 sets of narrow Victorian stairs which is not very fun with a normal size bike so decided I needed one of these.

Hoping the colour will grow on me.

  • I 100% support any excuse to get a neutrino. Didn’t know there was a new colour. I like it.

  • That colour is awesome.

  • I don’t dislike it, just not a huge fan. Although it may be the gloss finish that’s putting me off.

Probably once it has a load of black and silver bits hanging off it will look better.

Was supposed to drop bits off for wheels to be built today but bmx shop send me the wrong rims :(

  • I should dig my (undersized) neutrino out if the cellar, replace the rotten drivechain and maybe one day we will cross paths!

  • Looks fun

  • It'll be interesting to see what you think of this once it's built up.

I really fancy one to take with us when we go away as it'll take up less space than a "proper" bike when it's in the car.

  • feel like I've asked this before and the answer was "a very boutiquey american one" but what's the frack?

  • Dunno if they really take up that much less space than a proper bike to be honest.

  • That’s not helping in convincing me to buy one!

  • You are correct. Pass & Stow.

  • also interested what you make of it once built - nearly talked myself into one a year or so back but never pulled the trigger...

  • That’s really nice. I’d love one of these to get around on. Too nice to lock up and not worry about though.

  • Oh, I'd love to build a Neutrino. I just don't really have use for it but I am very excited about how this will turn out.

  • Everyone who thinks they want a neutrino but can't figure out the use case should just buy one instead of their flat bar hybrid. Has all the mounts, QR for cheap hubs, can run single speed, etc. It's basically a posh runaround. Hydro flatbar brakes are cheaper than Vs + levers at this point.

    okay!

  • same here

  • These old DT Swiss hubs and some aero bmx rims have been dropped with builder. Will be a couple weeks as need to be measured up and spokes ordered. Once I have the wheels think I have pretty much everything I need to build up.

  • Progress:

Wheels built and frame prepped by the amazing Keep Pedalling in MCR.

Also bought probably the most expensive tool roll ever (and not ordered tyres yet..!) but kind of had to for a few reasons.

#carryshitolympics through Manchester and train home.

Did a very quick mock build and tested going up/down the stairs. Easy enough!

Thx to @lotsirb for the 🌅 bars.

  • Glad they arrived okay - build is looking good! Weirdly, I imagined the bars being mounted to a Challenger before opening this thread - one better with the Credence. Enjoy!

  • I rode bmx for around a decade when younger (w/ a challenger) so seemed appropriate, plus have had it stashed in a box for some years. Need to see how I get on with sizing but the effective TT is pretty long so hoping will be ok. Have a backup option if not but will require buying OS clamp stem.

  • I like these, but it almost seems like VO are trying to put people off by using the worst colours.

The original in the ‘putty’ grey was ok .. but the pistachio and now salmon pink are like the colour of the suits my mother wore in the 80s

    Just imo

  • It’s grown on me and I think will look good when finished but I still wish it was matt lacquer.

I expect I will end up having some bosses moved/removed/filled at some point anyway so will end up needing new paint.

  • both are great colors

  • Acquired few bits needed during the week so will be rolling this weekend (unless I realise I forgot something) hopefully.

Getting a slip of paper from Alan’s bmx brought back some fond memories.
