  • Without stating the bleedin' obvs..... Following a wet ride, deflate the tyres and inspect them using a darning needle (or similar) to remove any pointy crud that might work its way through the tyre carcass when it is wet. This will massively reduce the chances of you getting a puncture. I used to do this before every long ride.

  • There's a double pinchflat in the air.

  • Knew I shouldn't have looked at this thread the other day... Cursed it. First puncture in 2 years-ish this morning. Broken glass at junction of Euston Rd and Belgrove St. lucky it was just the rear and not a double. Toothpaste tube tyre boot & new tube.

  • What kits do people recommend? Halfords used to do an amazing one with rubbery rather than plasticy patches but I haven't seen it in years. Can't get the old style to work consistently

  • Rema for full patches. Park tool for the quick fix self adhesive ones.

Seconded - but with the caveat that the adhesive can go off when they get old (found that out the hard way after they spent a couple of years in a saddle bag).

  • small pump/canister

There really is no need for the canister, it’s just laziness. Use a pump

  • Rema for full patches

    yes, they are level above.

  • I think they are repairable.
