Sounds lovely but, somewhat inevitably, I can't make it I'm afraid..

Augh, I tore the meniscus in my knee a bit about 10 days ago. Have done a couple tentative 30km rides past few days but even that seems to be pushing it. I'm very sadly going to have to be sensible and sit this one out

So Who's up for something soon? I fancy Roydon or Welwyn for a gentle beginning.

I was suggesting to @rhowe whether we could do slight variations of the routes. I thought I could just steal some Lost Lanes routes, but they're either too far out or too long. But I did see one of those is quite similar to the Welwyn one which could work, what you think?

In reverse could be good with a few long gentle downhills in the last half

The original Welwyn route has a dreamy section from up near Luton Airport to home that felt like a race, almost no turns and (at least a few years back) a lovely smooth new surface. It wass dreamy! Maybe the reversal is good, I am not the world's best routemaker. But would love that ride.

Roydon is 1928 from Liverpool St, calling Tottenham Hale, Cheshunt, Broxbourne. Arriving Roydon 1957

Last train back worth getting is 2343 arriving Liverpool St 0018.

It's usually pretty tight for a pint afterwards - the pubs seem to close pretty early in Roydon
