got my barbell today. all setup and planning on doing first stronglifts workout tomorrow morning.
was watching tv earlier and gently reached over to pick up a can of drink from beside me, totally normal movement, nothing weird and now my elbow tendons are fucked at full extension and full contraction. absolutely fucking fuming. what a cruel fucking joke.

See how it feels today might just be a twinge/cramp or whatever. Drink lots of fluids and rest it

Had this the other day, went up some stairs and did something that hobbled me for a day or so, felt like it was a legit permanent injury. Went away, but was stressful until it did!

just as bad this morning. was nightmare trying to sleep. will ice it today and try to keep it as immobile as possible. so disappointing though.

75kg today, 3kg lost in 7 days.
Mostly water weight I expect, as I'm currently following a rather aggressive keto / intermittent fasting diet.Macros are approx. 150g protein, 20g carbs, 90g fat.
Should see some quick improvements, but actually the choice of keto/intermittent fasting was because there is some information out there that it might reduce allergy / inflammation symptoms across the board, and as I am dying of hayfever right now, any help I can get for easing those symptoms, the better!

Athlete mode on the scales was a good idea.
75.0kg and 12.6% body fat this morning.
Slap bang in the middle of my target dials.
Feels really good to have arrived, rather than be aiming at something.
See you in the lifting thread.

Excellent!
Keep it up fella

started at 81.9kg on 3 june - now down to 79.5kg due to a combination of limiting cals to 1610 a day (actually not too bad with some diet tweaks) and increasing level of activity (e.g. 8-10k steps per day or one strength workout / 5k run). trying to get as low into the 70s as possible before switching to maintenance. at 182cm I’m now in the healthy BMI range

Damn, I'm creeping back up after a couple of weeks of weddings/gigs and generally being busy and not looking after myself. It doesn't help that I had a full week of working from home without my 25 miles a day of commuting by bike.
I was just under 62kg a month ago and up to 63.2kg this morning. Posting on here to try and summon some motivation to get back to behaving myself! I'm building a new bike at the moment so hopefully I'll be able to get out on that a fair bit over the next few weeks. -

well this has been less than ideal.
been running 3x a week and sticking to about 1500kcal so this is quite frustrating to see things stagnate like this.
i imagine changes are happening in my body measurements that i'm not noticing but motivationally seeing a continuous trend downward is a huge thing for me.

Over only 9 days I would often not see any changes. takes 2-3 weeks minimum for me for the effects to kick in. I also only weigh weekly, as otherwise the noise-to-signal ratio is too high

Zoom out dude and see the long term trend. Keep doing the right things. Stalls are frustrating but as long as the 📉 then all is still good

Late January 99,1kg at 1,81m. 25ish% BF
Early March 92kgs. 22% BF.
Early May 87.5kgs. 20.5% BF. Plateaued for all April
Mid June 83.8kgs. 18.9% BFI understand from the BF chat beforehand it's probably not really the real measurement but I want to compare apples to apples and will keep the scales on the same metrics.
Quite chuffed tbh. Am also now keeping up a steady half kilo loss per week by 14/10 intermittent fasting and mostly huel shakes for lunch, hot stuff for dinner.
My appetite is notacibly less. Guess I also need less calories now chugging less kilos around.
And I will have to disappoint you lot wanting free topless fotos. OF on demand per DM.

As per above, I plateaued for a month, and then it kicked off again steadily. Things are changing inside, know that for sure. Good work!
Also, I'm not sure if weighing yourself daily is a good thing to do tbh. It will only lead to the apparent frustration! -

cheers,
i'm fine with not seeing a change from one day to the next, but routine is a big part of me sticking to my goals and seeing if my weight has gone down when i wake up is the carrot on the stick that motivates me best.
it's just frustrating to see it remain static for such a long time. but i'd have been even more annoyed had i waited a week to see how much i lost and saw no change as my expectations for how much i'd have lost cumulatively by then would be even greater than looking for any change at all daily.
i should add getting under 110kg is the number that gets me back to where I was in 2018 when I was out of shape but still doing very active things (jog/walking 50k ultras for e.g.) which is the culmination of "phase 1" of getting back into shape in my head. screeching to a halt 1kg from the big number i have been eyeing since start of march as my first major target is probably the most annoying place it could have happened hence the frustration.
I remain pragmatic about the overall process though so it's all good.

I’ve been doing pretty well.
Started the year on 73kg aimed to get down to 68kg (something I hadn’t done in 10 years) got down to 67kg end of feb.I’ve got pretty severe tendinitis so I can’t just run all the time so managing my diet is the big lever.
I ploughed on down to 65kg (climbing on the bike was noticeably easier) I had a blip in the last month…got ill, got really hungry, ate lots.
And so with some effort back down to 66kg. Now 68kg has gone from being the target to being the absolute ceiling weight I want to be.
The diet has been just trying to eat a really broad range of stuff (admittedly vegetables), so big and varied salads. I’m still drinking beers every now and again and eating cornettos.
In top of weights (mild) running and cycling, I’m trying to keep my kids off the computers, so a lot of general horseplay, skateboarding, climbing about, park shenanigans…general primate behaviour

good: saw my first 78 on the scale
bad: my old shoulder injury flared again after short turbo session -

I'm going keto. Starting weight 14 st 9.5 lbs. 5'9". The main reason is to treat CFS/ME. Weight loss is a secondary benefit. Will use a ketone meter.

110.8 this morning after 10 days stuck at 111.2 so hopefully i'm out of the plateau now.
need to focus on my strength work now to try and help boost my bmr with some extra muscle as i worry my metabolism is going to adapt too low on just a calorie deficit alone and i don't have much room to go down any further so time to start upping activity instead.

Good work, well done. Inspiring!

Plus side of losing a decent amount of weight : I can now wear all of my clothes and look good
Except, down side: all of my cycling lycra kit is now baggy. As in flappy.

Luckily, galibier.cc exists.
Great. If only it was that easy to drop fat % in reality!
