This takes me back. On an almost identical bike, as a 15-year old I achieved some very respectable TT times, which I didn't really better even on a bespoke lightweight. It was a great all-rounder.

SOLD
Motobecane Tour de France. Vintage 1970’s Eroica Racing Bike, Shimano 600 (1st gen)
57cms ST (c-to-t)
The bike is in fantastic, unrestored, original condition, even down to the original Motobecane bar tape!
Made from lightweight Vitus steel tubing, back in the days when Vitus were a highly regarded steel tubing manufacturer.
First generation Shimano 600 (10 speed), all in great working condition
Motobecane (Takagi, Japan) 170mm chainset
Weinmann brakes
Rigida Wheels
The year is 1978/79.
Included are a number of spares, as follows:
Stronglight 100 LX crankset, 170mm, with 28/42 rings
Listrac Technology period-correct saddle in excellent condition (the saddle that’s on the bike itself is bent)
KKT pedals
NB: The bike is pictured with its Motobecane (Takagi) chainset on it, however you'll need to fit a longer chain to use this as the chain has been shortened for use with the Stronglight chainset. Both chainsets are included.
£100
Pretty sure the 1st Gen Shimano 600 and Stronglight chainset would sell for this much, but a shame to break the bike apart.
Collection from Brixton on Sunday 11th Dec please (or from near Horsham station any other time)
