Interesting “coastal” route?

I like watching it live with commentary to explain what’s happening/who’s who.

Dot watching is live and you're on the right thread for commentary! 😉

Worth pointing out Marin is around 430km / day which was about Kristoff pace in his years. Given this year is the hilliest to date, his pace is amazing. The front two are just beyond anything seen before.

Interesting comparison.
From my perspective it was striking in 2019 how much the standard improved mid-pack from my first race in the Kristof days. I averaged 20km per day more but was about 80th rather than 30th. And it's got higher still since then.

, I pay more attention if I've got mates racing.
This. I'm interested in what people I know are doing, not so much otherwise. After doing a couple of these things you get to know a few riders, which makes it interesting.
I don't usually follow it that closely but I do recommend being an official dot watcher once. Then you follow a couple of riders very closely every day and really get inside their heads. If you are lucky and get a top rider you get a real insight into how the race is going, and you can learn some things you can apply to your own racing.

Crazy. What was your average on TCR?
CS seemed very composed on the video Josh had the other day. Looked in control. -

Ok, try to look at social media bits through Youtube, Instagram, Dotwatcher, Bikepacking.com if you like the who is who. Takes some work. Google a rider for their history, Dotwatcher is starting to keep records now of this. Cap #1 here Christoph Strasser is a good one! One of the best riders Sofiane has some videos on his channel with footage of him in races https://www.youtube.com/@sofianeshl/videos
Silk Road Mountain Race is up next month and might be a good jumping in point. Strong line-up and alway an interesting race to follow.

I've been wondering, can the riders Dot Watch ? Might they be able to see where others are going and perhaps change their route as they go?
-
• #222
Yes

Looking back over the replay and there is a game of cat and mouse for third between Tim (24) and Anatole (232)
I have been lucky enough to get taken onto the 3rd parcour and whilst rough under tyre it does provide some excellent views

I've done this a few times when my route turned to shit and I was worried the road I was on wasn't legal. If 20 people in front used it, you're probably ok. It's an advantage of being slow.

Anatole had some tracker weirdness.
Strasserbot cannot be stopped. Tomorrow finish?
