anyone who can do these couple of jobs can end up 'owning' Rapha
shouldn't this be in "Shit developpers say ..." ?

I find the UK custom to announce pay range somewhat curious. You are worth what you can negotiate. In my local market the pay is always solved case by case basis. I've hired several people in IT sector and it is never straight-forward discussion. Your current pay, poker face and acuteness of resource need all come to play. Also I've decided to not apply for roles that clearly where expecting too much for too little money.
I would love to work for Rapha. I think coming into the office and soking up the life style would be a perk. Having spent the whole Corona-period stuck at home the last 6 months at the office has been amazing. Sometimes working from the bike shed is alright, but like it was said when you meet people things just move along smoother.
The only thing I would criticize is the specific technologies required. Most often if you know one CI/CD tool you can pretty much adapt to any other product without much of a learning curve.

That’s the point though. Salaries should be transparent and shouldn’t require negotiation and smoke and mirrors to get what you deserve.

Exactly. The company is the only winner in that scenario. Some people naturally aren't good at negotiating, and they shouldn't be penalised for it.

Personally I don't really agree, after working from home on some pretty large projects with colleagues based all over the country.
I wouldn't give up the freedom of home working now. It helps working for a company very open to home working, no set hours etc etc.
I'd caveat it as "meeting competent people moves things along smoother, regardless of where they are based".

If you don't want to negotiate salary I've heard there's some poorly paid jobs in Local Government
I get the sentiment though, I just don't think it's realistic except for very strictly defined roles.

current salary - not your business
expected salary - offer a salary range so candidates could consider to apply or not. stop wasting their timeyour actual job offer sounds you want to find the cheapest Joe, not the one you need

Always fun to see what the American candidates in New York are asking for...
Tristan, why is it always fun might I ask? Are Rapha salaries so low for an international city like London or New York that you have to knock NYC when it comes to what New Yorkers make or expect to make?
This is yet another reason why applicants get upset when employers ask "What is your current salary and expected salary." And here you are letting us know it's "always fun" when you get that info?
Ethically and professionally—you should keep those comments to yourself. It's not a good look for Rapha!

Hi folks. My intention here was share and reach out to the local cycling community in London to offer a role at a business that offers technology roles in a cycling industry.
These roles are not is not common, and I’d rather folks that work at Rapha to be excited by bicycles than not.I feel a bit put out and portrayed as a corporate overlord. I've come to post this in a personal capacity as much as I am able. Based on my previous experience with this forum as a member, I had nothing but positivity and meme giggles. This time it’s been a little different. I am not the hiring manager for all of these roles, but do work in the department. I have tried to be as transparent about the role as possible and answer all question as clearly as possible about my experience at Rapha. I hope that this transparency is valued.
It seems to have spiralled into a salary ethics discussion around the sharing of banding. This practice is extremely common in industry, and some of these are worth addressing. We are not unique in the approach of not sharing salaries or even a range [1][2][3][4][5].
I am not personally saying this is right or wrong, but the situation is that we are hiring on experience and cultural alignment to our roadmap goals, and will always try to pay as close to the market rate based on your current experience and potential growth. As an individual working in technology, I am not immune to salary expectations. I have and always will fight for the highest salary range for individuals based on their merit. This should be a given for any hiring manager.

Hi user150368. The US is known for being significantly higher in salary expectations even when compared to London. We are looking for individuals in London. Perhaps fun is the wrong word, and insightful more suitable? As mentioned, I've tried to be as transparent and personable as possible rather than a corporate robot. I do not think this is unprofessional and make a remark like this. I can explicitly state on the record we are not able to match US technology salaries from cities like New York and San Fransisco. We do not have any roles in technology in the US and unable to offer VISAs for candidates.

I actually think @iC has asked some great questions here on our choice of technology stack and intentions to try and deliver a more refined experience for customers.
Ultimately, I would love people to spend the 10 minutes if they are interested applying if they feel that they can make a difference at Rapha and two tie two passions together. The salary expectation and current are completely optional, as is most of the form around inclusion if that makes people feel uncomfortable. If anyone has any further questions around the culture, the ways of working, or technology at Rapha then I would be happy to answer.
Best,
