To be fair I have met techbros with less knowledge than me, and that says a lot
-

All this trying to second-guess what the next move is, I think I just realised is totally pointless
They have no plan, just chaos
The whole runaway disaster train crashes when the rails run out, at the end of the line in January surely? -

Same. Emphasis is on the "bro" not the "tech".

Does Sunak count as a “bro”?
-
• #7131
head flushed down the toilet by a techbro
Isn't that metaphorically what Elon musk did to him when rishi interviewed him?
If we ignore the married wealth I don't think Rishi counts as particularly wealthy by hedge fund standards. He was in finance for 15 years, an analyst for the first 5 years on about 1-200k a year before hitting partner level.
I'd be surprised if his career income exceeded 50m.Obviously that's beyond dream levels of wealth for most of us, me included, but it's nowhere near what his wife is worth.

12.17 GMT Sunak claims Tories are 'united' in wanting better future for UK, and claims talk about leadership situation 'doesn't matter'
Rishi Sunak has claimed that “all Conservatives are united in wanting
to deliver a brighter future” for Britain. In a pooled interview after his economy speech this morning, asked why
he did not let one of his “disloyal colleagues” have the “poisoned
chalice” of being PM, Sunak replied:I’m not interested in all Westminster politics. It doesn’t matter.
What matters is the future of our country. And that’s what I am
squarely focused on.That’s what I get up every morning, working as hard as I can, to
deliver – whether it’s cutting people’s taxes, increasing the state
pension … today increasing the number of apprenticeships and talking
to small businesses. Those are the things that matter to people. And as we have seen over
the last few weeks, our plan is working. Inflation is coming down,
wages are growing and the economy is back to growing again.Asked why he could not get Tory MPs to “shut up” about the leadership,
Sunak replied:All Conservatives are united in wanting to deliver a brighter future
for our country. -

How is that anodyne crap even news, never mind a front-page headline in the Times?

Indie polling said tory voters would be happier with Thatcher back. It's like The Monkey's Paw, be very careful what you wish for.

Ben Wallace tells Tories it's too late to replace Sunak and they must 'march towards the sound of the guns'
Such positivity from those running the country for almost 14 years.

Apparently the press release that went out yesterday re. the Rishi speech today was significantly longer than the speech he delivered.
-
• #7140
Probably couldn’t be arsed
He doesn’t believe it any more than we do -

@martinabettt
1922 Committee just gave Rishi Sunak a full minute of desk banging
-
• #7142
Those public school rituals, eh.
-
• #7143
Is that like finger banging?
-
• #7144
Let us examine the evidence, shall we?
Theresa May -> "desk banging", 12 December -> vote of no confidence,
January 15Boris Johnson -> "desk banging", 6 Jun -> forced to resign, July 8
Liz Truss -> "desk banging", 12 October -> forced to resign, October

is it ok to start campaigning for reform to try and make the above happen? all of this has 1936 vibes as well, terrifying
Edit maybe phone campaign as not wanting to physically be present -

Reform bots are alllll over social media. TikTok and Instagram are rife with them. I'll always support people voting Reform and splitting the Fash vote 👌

So reform is the new Nazi party?

We had an election
well kinda sorta
And before you knew it
hello new order.
Sunak is a weak, brittle character.
He only became Chancellor because he agreed to whatever demands Cummings had, after Sajid Javed, (who was no paragon of virtue himself), refused to sack his own advisors.
