  • Fabulous stuff “I love this country” - was that why he only gave up his green card when under a bit of media scrutiny?

And called out “the racist Nick Griffin” but not “the racist Lee Anderson” or “the racist Suella Braverman”.

  • Oh right, he's trying to move on from Tory racism stories before the weekend.

  • What the fuck was that?

Are you lot in London under some sort of 'islamist' siege?

    Am i missing something?

  • Pretty much.

Can't even walk to a Gales without being bundled into a burka.

  • Said basically nothing and will be instantly forgotten. Sunak 2024.

  • It is an entirely concocted Westminster bubble story

  • That speech was written by Dominic Cummings replacement...

  • With a bit of luck we'll have some slightly fashy legislation that government can't get through parliament

  • sooo... the most urgent problems we face are George Galloway and a chant about a river.

    amazing.

  • The speech isn't even in the top 3 stories n the BBC. What a waste of time and effort.

The presenters in radio 4 sounded utterly bemused by it all.

  • Sunak is an intellectually incoherent lunatic, apparently George Galloway (separate subject) being elected via a democratic process was evidence of a threat to democracy.

Lightweight is overly generous, he’s absolutely shit at politics or displaying any type of leadership.

Actually, scratch all that, he has a plan that he says is working so all will be ok

  • Tangent: Galloway is a Wanker; an interesting fun wanker.

Who'd wipe wipe the floor with Sunak in a debate, so it'll never happen.

  • Everyone of them is grifting mega, shows how bad politics is when Galloway is getting back in again. Games a bogey.

  • I’ve had an epiphany, Sunak is an Icke like visionary.

Howelse to explain the ballsy strategy of stating that the country that he governs is in the grip of mob rule and suggesting that he can lead us all in healing division.

Bring Bridgen back into the fold - preferably in Cabinet as a dream ticket with Anderson, Braverman and newly Lord Bone - and I’ll be pounding the streets to spread the good word

  • Someone should tell sunak that Galloway would lose in a GE and see if he falls for it.

  • I’m still trying to work out what he thought that speech would achieve.

He seems to have this air of exasperation all the time that the country is facing all these problems, and no one is doing anything to address them. It’s a baffling political strategy. And the problems he’s highlighting have little to no relevance to the vast majority of people, who are trying to keep their heads above water.

  • I'm still trying to work out why a man whose family are worth around a billion is working that late on a Friday. Standing out in the cold. Making a tit of himself

  • I agree, I don't understand what his actual point was. Was he trying to say that there will be a zero tolerance to protest? (something the Tories have been trying to achieve for a while).

The lecturn should only be brought out for major announcements. He could have said that shit on BBC,ITV,Sky etc in an interview. He must be cooking something up or just felt the need to get more of his money's worth out of his lecturn than Truss

  • My current favourite (and most convincing) rational for why Sunak, is that it's just what he thought he was meant to be.

He was headboy. He was voted most likely to be PM at primary school. He's just been told he'd be good at it, and so far has been successful elsewhere, so it's the next logical move.

What does bring me joy, is that he's clearly used to being good at things. And now not only is he shit, even if he was halfway compitent (at politics or government) he's surrounded by so many shit people that it probably wouldn't make a difference.

  • At school I was voted most likely to be a jobless loafer alcoholic so I see where you're coming from

  • Sunak is an earnest lightweight. Surely someone within the circle of spads would have said to him that in any upcoming election he (Sunak) will get his arse returned to him? Why carry on? He has been P>M for 18 months, it's there on the C.V. He could be in California enjoying himself heading up his own hedge fund etc. He's as rich as Croesus to boot. Why stay and deal with all this crap?
I'm truly puzzled in trying to work this out

  • Starmer > Corbyn > extremism

It was an early play to see if the election can be fought like the last one. Everything else in the country is either broken or covered in potholes so they are desperate, again to drum up support.
