  • Let’s not get our hopes up yet, they’ve come back from the dead before.

  • Yep. Shit for the Tories, just about OK for Labour and good for the Lib Dems/Greens seems to be the take so far.

Still slightly annoying to hear Davey ruling out any electoral pacts for the GE when it is so clear that it works out well for them. Hopefully behind the scenes they'll still do a bit of it.

  • It’s worth saying again that these seats were last up in 2019, 3 months before Theresa May resigned. The Tory’s lost 1300 seats that night, which was their worse performance in 20 plus years.

Losing any seat for the Tory should be a total disaster.

  • Davey ruling out any electoral pacts for the GE

Might this just be keeping cards close to chest/holding out for better deals behind the scenes?

  • Davey ruling out any electoral pacts for the GE

He has to say that, any hint of a pact would be jumped on by the mail etc and would be on the front page for months, behind the scenes I’m sure they are talks of soft-pedalling candidates in some seats.

  • Do the LibDems/Labour need to formalise anything? Voters seem to be able to work out how to vote tactically without that.

  • Both Labour and to a lesser extent the LibDems have to put candidates up in every seat. But they concentrate their resources on the seats they think they can win, so there are very few seats where they go head to head.

  • He's in a difficultposition. His party benefit from disaffected Tories. Declaring a pact with Labour now would put ome wavering Tory voters off voting Lib Dem in the GE

  • Up to the results published at 8am there was some analysis showing Labour were making biggest % gains in Leave areas (like Medway with 65% Leave vote) and Tories losing most in Remain areas.

  • And the bring back Boris brigade have started up again. Do it, do it, do it.

  • I cannot recall any appearances by the bloated liar during this campaigning period.
Was he warned off by TeamSunak,
    or,
    more likely, just too lazy?

  • Johnson do something for anyone else? Nah he's laying low until his enquiry is over / there's another crisis in the Tory party.

  • more likely, just too lazy?

This is where my money is too. I reckon he's realised ho easy life is swanning round the US speaking circuit rolling off the same script and jokes every time.

  • Apparently out in a couple of weeks now. Though I imagine it'll be a 9 day suspension recommended and he'll live to grift another day.

  • Apparently he hasn’t even done much speaking. It’s mostly advances. This is quite informative on the murky world of Boris’ finances https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-slow-newscast/id1487320403?i=1000602855381

  • Ha! Too lazy to even open his trap...

  • Get thrashed, time to pass round the collection tin;

  • Wow, reads like a Trump/GOP fundraising script watered down a bit; the Tories are just phoning in MAGA bullshit everywhere.

  • He did one video that made cleverlys one look professional. It was drunken and in the back of a car

  • I cannot fucking wait to see this POS lose his seat. If apes could dress themselves and form sentences...

  • Tories have managed to get a council into Green party control for the first time ever. Mid Suffolk party leader lost her seat too.

  • Doesn’t that council cover part of Truss’ constituency?

Edit: No, she's MP for south-west Norfolk, not Suffolk.

  • Dover has fallen. To Labour.

Wow, that stop the boats shit really isn't working is it?

  • But you watch them blame the labour council in the usual publications when their policy doesn't work...

  • Our next door council, Chichester, has gone lib-dem. Even though it was no overall control last time this is the blueist of blue areas…
Awaiting Arun, our mp was parachuted in having allowed his London Town house to be used for Boris’s leadership campaign. No doubt he’d get voted in at the next GE but he might have to try a bit harder for his constituents rather than allow for a dual carriageway to be built in peoples back yards (not his of course he’ll live miles away).
