always good to get partygate and his lying back in the public eye
I feel like this is no accident. I think Labour have carefully thought this move through and concluded the same thing.
If so, getting Johnson and his cronies to come out against it with the associated stench of hypocrisy is tactical genius. I don't think anyone is going to change their mind about partygate or the inquiry now: the public reached their verdict long ago, even if Parliament hasn't.
But it's given voters a wonderful reminder that Johnsonites are lying hypocritical fucks without the imagination to realise that some people actually go about their job with more than a passing consideration of professional ethics and that we aren't all slimey self-serving Machiavellian fuckwits who would merrily push granny under a bus to move up in life and who are only in in to enrich ourselves/our mates/a company registered to our father-in-law.
Either way, I can't see how this isn't doing even more damage to the Tory party. Hurrah.

Moderately amusing exchange between Cathy Newman and Isabel Oakeshott, guess they won't be on each others Christmas cards lists

An interesting line of attack but it's making the story about the grubby journalist not the grubby politician so unfortunately I'm with oakshot on that one.

Her stinging last question should have been her first. There definitely appears more in this story too, could be fun.

It's a News UK employee asking another News UK employee why they went to a rival publication and the answer is because they want it spun to satisfy a pre-determined narrative which involves cherry picking

So far I think Simon Case is coming out worst. He's supposed to be the impartial guy but he just comes across as trying to be one of the lads. It is utterly bonkers and I bet most other permanent secretarys and all the ex heads of the civil service are aghast. It is just unthinkable that the top guy in the organisation is saying this stuff.

I've never understood why people waste their own time like this for Twitter clout.

I'm really hoping this turns into an utter pile of steaming, rancid turd for him, and that he plummets into it from a great height, never to be seen again. Cunt.

Apparently Simon Case was the reason Sue Gray chose to look for employment elsewhere, 4D chess by Casey

Won't this trigger some kind of change in law/protocol where he will be the last to be able to pull this kind of shit?

It's got to get through Cabinet Office and the PM has final say so very unlikely to actually happen

I think this might depend on whether Truss tries to get a list in for the Lords (and who is on it). I can imagine that would see some healthy backlash!
So, that's what we're talking about tonight listeners - who's your favourite Christ? Jesus, Oakeshott, Wagon or that one on the bike- call us and tell us why....
