  • Ha, worked for them for a few years - covering delivery driving and baking. It’s a great place!
I definitely found working deliveries (starting at 4am) harder than baking from 5pm-1am!

  • Man that focaccia looks amazing. Really enjoyed all the pics in this thread.

  • He she is...

  • New forks are so sick.

  • Old Pace fork crown?

  • Yep, it’s a 1989 RC30 fork with Reynolds legs. First fork they ever did I believe. Fell into my lap via a bloke in the pub who had ‘an old mountain bike’ he wanted rid of.

  • Very, very cool.

    Yes! This 👆
Retro gold. That bike would give Uncle Ronnie and Mr Radvist Watson wet panties.

  • This needs a touch of anodised purple 1" threaded headset I think.

    Would really suit.

  • Can’t say he’s not an influence !

  • It really doesn’t.

I cannot abide purple parts, I’m a father for christ sake.

  • I'm the father of christ.

Oh holy one, how shall I repent for my misjudgement of ano purple

  • dropping in via the retro mountain bikes thread to say that this fucking bangs, nice work

  • This is absolutely stunning.

As a hopeless puRpLe aNo knuckledragger, I say keep it exactly as it is.

  • Thanks!

I’ll drop a couple of other builds in that thread for the heads …

  • New child seat day. Very handy mechanism clamps onto a pannier rack. No tools needed. Weeman is very happy as you can see.

  • More adventures today.

Annoyingly discovered that my sons water bottle isn’t water tight at all, but the podsacs framebag is 100% watertight. So there was half a pint of water in there when I emptied it just now. Whoops!

Definitely need an easier front bag solution. The monstrosity I rigged up to use the Carradice bagman is too much of a faff. Will maybe try and mount the klikfix kit I got off here (sorry I’ve forgotten who kindly sent me it!).

  • First ride of the year on this. New Carradice bar mounted bag support. Works well enough, albeit crying out for a QR like they have on the saddle mounted ones.

  • The bar bagman kinda works, kinda doesn’t. As others have said, the Carradice bags with side pockets don’t really work as bar bags. So was keen to look for another solution.

Then a Restrap rando bag and rack came up for sale, courtesy of @GideonPARANOID

Bit of a bodge to get better clearance around the front brake. Not sure if wise? See how it goes.

Absolutely love the Restrap baseplate mounting system.

  • That’s a pretty ingenious workaround for this problem!

I encountered the same problem myself but luckily live next door to a machinist who made up a mount I designed to go under the canti hanger.
