  • Pink is the correct choice, stay the course,

  • @Maj im glad I have your support 🫡

Is here anyone going to the Wizard Woks sample sale on Sunday and willing to help contribute to my recent spate of reckless financial decisions?

  • 6 months not cycling more than 20km can be remedied by a 51t yes?

  • Disappointed in you for the Pink Ourys. I thought you were a free thinker, not a follower.
    Unsubbed.

  • Forgive me for I am a slave to our resident tastemakers.

  • Gusset Beard bars i think - very not-sexy naming combo - nice bars tho, I just got some from woods - v light.

  • Ah sick, there ya go @Marcootsee

  • ignoring the chaos in these photos

I washed my bike just now as I had time to kill and knew it would be pretty essential to getting all the instagram likes I need on the ‘new build’ bike photos I’m gonna have to take once it’s done.
Then the postman came and dropped off the last couple bits I was waiting for. So I figured I’d test fit the bars to see what the vibes were saying before taking it to the shop to have brakes swapped over and bars cut down

what do we reckon, i think it’s pretty cool 😎

  • cant see larousse book of bread, disappointed

  • looks banging lad, hot person bike for sure

  • I like that a lot

  • thanks all I’m blushing

    @amey it’s tartine or nothing

Bad news - think my stem is fkd.

Top two bolts will only screw in this far, it all got a bit out of hand, some mangling happened, maybe joining some pre-existing mangling, now I think stem is kaput save for sourcing a tap n die set and trying to fix them maybe? These c220 stems man, they look great but they’re so finicky, cause more problems than what they’re meant to solve.

  • Possible to try threading the bolt through from the back side? Sometimes that helps with mangled threads.

  • The vibe is quite there, for sure! I don't know what is your fit goal, but it might look a little bit too wide/flat to be upright and comfortable for long rides. My 2c!

  • Bolts do all the way through via the back side, but still just doesn’t wanna quite go in right through the front when I’m putting the face plate on.

I think the problem is these two bolts are stuck in the face plate, some bad torque-matching or bad angling seems to have got them stuck in the plate some how. It means that they don’t want to go in at a nice angle. Gonna try some grease or something, try lube em out maybe

  • Bit of ptfe spray and some loving whacks with a spanner got the bolts out, they’re all fine, stem now works again crisis over. Lesson learnt, honest.

@amey my biggest takeaway from this video is that I’d really like one of these tshirts

  • yeah i hear ya! I am cutting the bars down to maybe like 720mm. I used to do a lot of long rides on this with the drop bar setup, I’m putting flats/risers on with shorter rides in mind, but who knows, if I start doing long multi day trips again maybe I’ll swap for some more appropriate ‘alt-bar’ or put some of those funky SQlab inner bar ends on here or something. We’ll see how we go. I’m mostly just doing this to get me excited to ride again.

As long as this works, everything's fine!

True connaisseur, the French are too prescriptive.

Bike is nice too, makes me want a riser gravel bike.

  • lmk if you need a loan of a torque wrench 👍

  • French are too prescriptive

They do tend to be pretty particular when it comes to their food tradition that’s for sure.

I was actually also making bread alongside messing with my stem, maybe the multitasking can explain my stupidity a bit

  • Ooooo that is a big boy cassette, we’ve swapped vibes, I had my all city with the bullmoose bars, and swapped over to a fast drop bar setup on my fustle, and you’ve gone the other way!
Looking lush, we need to get out soon son.
Shift work is a killer for riding with other people. Me and a few friend are doing the Sussex mystery tour in July though!
Planning a south of France bikepacking trip also in early August!

PS; you need a bigger frame bag
