Hit a bit of a snag: bar end shifters don’t fit in the bars (should’ve known/checked). Paul Thumbies after all? Ridiculous price, but don’t see any other options really.

Cheaper to change the bars?

And by other bars you mean Jones bars? Because that’s how I read it.

Unsure whether these work with my microSHIFT Shimano MTB bar ends. But good shout.

You could ream the bars? I reckon it is R0.5mm you need to remove?

Change bars or Thumbies are the most sensible options I think.

Seems like bar ends could be annoying on there anyway, if you pass a tree too closely it'll dump you down to a the bottom of the cassette

Maybe, but I kind of wanted to keep the lever area free to have an extra hand position.

downtube shifters would keep the cockpit clean. a bit uncomfortable if you tend to shift a lot...

I approve of that crankset, got a very similar 40/24 combo on my touring bike. Ist an old shimano dx crankset or just a replica? The dx/xt ones are narrower than mtb hollowtech cranks.

Spa's own design, I think. Might play with the bottom bracket width a little bit.
