should be built by end of this week / weekend so I’ll be able to practice falling off plenty beforehand
Did you build this?
I can't see it in the classifieds yet...

It’s way too much fun to sell
Probably going to evolve in to a weight weenie XC project, although it already only weighs 9kg, which I’m told is slight for an MTB, if I can get to 8kg I’ll be happy….
Got illusions of grandeur that I would race Beastway, but not had much time for practice and there’s FullGas on at the velopark again on Wednesdays, which is far more convenient than Redbridge

I’m not sure we have the same idea of minimal weight here….

they are both good looking gravel bikes

Is that bar/lever position comfortable? Doesn't look it

I'll take the fork if you end up splitting or someone takes the rest of the set.
cheers.

Not ridden it for long enough to be able to tell, and honestly have no idea what is “comfy” on a XC bike 😂
Any pointers on where they’re meant to be ?!

Having the bars rolled back more can be more comfortable for longer rides, though a lot of people prefer rolled forward for an 'aggressive' position, weighting the front wheel more
What you seem to have there are bars rolled forward, along with a high lever position which would cause your wrists to bend back
Everybody finds their own thing though. It's at least a lot easier to experiment than with drop bars, as there's no bar tape faff

Yeah, I still feel very high and uncomfortable on this bike, but that may just be down to the drop im used to on the road bike; the new fork brings the rake in to 44mm and I have a few other stems of varying drop (-8 to -20 / 70/80/90mm) which I hope will change the handling and comfort dynamics favourably.
Also feel like the seatpost sill isn’t high enough. -

A -20 degree stem will virtually make you a pro

That’s all I need to know

I bought the Soma Odin bar to drop the front of my 29er. It made a big difference actually.

At that point, you just have to accept that you're 'not suited' to 29er wheels
-
• #44
or just use the fork crown as handlebar, possible with axs ..

• #45
And a weight weenie version here
My 29er feels way too lofty without its - 20° stem though

Some flat bars, a -20 90mm and some lever tilt and this thing feels WAY better
