• Thanks, crazy hat you done all this before Strava ;

I'll probably do the Ghisallo from Lecco to Como. Then to Ticino valley via Menaggio and Lugano.

  • couldn't ask for the better than that if only Italian steel you saw.

and great idea to come back with the rest of your bikes at some point. would be an epic trip.

  • Can someone edit the typo in the title please? Its doin’ me ‘ed in

  • Never even noticed that and I'm usually all over other people's mistakes :D

  • Fixed

  • Very good

  • Modern travel!

  • With no google translate I'm going to take a stab that you're in the longest tunnel in the world?

  • Gothard base tunnel, nice. Still haven't done it myself.

  • With the bike.

  • Any recommendations for near Davos?

Most of the roads seem to be a bit of the ‘main’ variety, the type populated by motorcyclists going way too fast.

  • Both @pastry_bot and @fussballclub were in that area a few days ago. They probably have some good recommendations.

  • Any recommendations for near Davos?

Albulapass and Fluellapass are definitely worth doing.

  • Thanks both. Albulapass and Fluellepass were the ones I found as part of this route.

But looking at Google Maps, looks like they could be a bit trafficky and there's a sketchy-looking tunnel to go through. Would be riding Saturday/Sunday as well which possibly makes it worse.

I'm a wimp with traffic these days.

  • I did both at the weekend, in the summer, albeit as part of an organised event (the Engadin Radmarathon) and the traffic was fine in terms of volume. OK, there was one twat in an Italian registered Fiat Coupe convertible who managed to hit my hand with his wing mirror in a particularly ill-advised overtake, even by Italian standards, but that was very much an outlier. Generally the traffic was fine.

  • Zügenschlucht opened mid June again, the Landwasser Tunnel is fun though. If you really don't like traffic you can always do Sertig Pass, there is even a sign in Davos Dorf Bergün 30something km so you can't really miss it. You might miss the snow so if you don't hurry.

  • Engadin - Braglia however must arguably be one of the better descents in Europe. You can then climb back or Spugla.

  • Made it to the top of Grand Colombier on Bastille day/Tour day. It's chaos and crazy. Lots of fun

  • fucking amazing! looks like you are at the summit?

  • Yes we got to the summit but the view wasn't too good so we dropped back down 1200 metres (distance not altitude)

  • Rest day today so we tackled Forclaz, col du Pre and col de Saisies. Big day out but the highlight was descending off the back of the col du Pre to the Roseland

  • Looks like a lovely trip, very jealous! Did Pre last year in baking afternoon sun - hard work.

The view of Lac De Roseland really is incredible, and the dam good fun. We continued and did Cormet de Roseland as the sun was setting which was quite special.

    Such a beautiful area.

  • This lane is the first right at the very top of the Grimsel (from Meiringen) before the thunderstorms yesterday.

My new favourite road sign is 'Altdorf 40km' just beyond Hospental.
