Yes. Classic bend is different to modern bars.

Better get some different bars before wrapping.

I suspected this would be the answer! I have some nice compact bars that would be perfect but they feel like they will never get through this stem.
-
• #1532
Clamp it on the thinner part of the bars or use a reverse shim
-
• #1533
Looking at that stem, you might be right...

The stem has this cool little spreader bolt but even with it opened wider then advisable it wouldn’t clear the non-rounded section of the Procraft bars where the cable grooves are, and I scratched the shit out of them trying. I think a grooveless bar (Piega?) might just work, but I might just see if I can live with the 90s abominations first. I assume the way I have them set up is about right, as far as it goes.

I recently had the same issue but couldn't get the piegas I had in. If you're in West london and want some 38cm piegas you're welcome to try them out. Think I used nitto m151 in the end.

And then you have to eyeball the hood angle so it doesn't solve anything
-
• #1543
That doesn't show anything other than both levers being equal height.

I thought the pump was part of the door.

This one's mine. I await the verdict on my bars. Yes I could level the drops, but in this form all hand positions are comfortable. Tops, ramps, hoods, drops.
-
• #1547
For classic drops this is fine

I really like the balance of black and silver on this build.
Also, Nice 2x8 set up...I have just done the same on another build. I was very surprised on how well it worked. Thank you lord Romance.

Thanks for the kind words. This iteration came out well, and I haven't changed it in a few weeks, which for me is pretty telling. (I'm a serial tinkerer)
The Campagnolo 10 to shimano 8 really works better than it should. I've had similar setups on a few bikes over the years. Allows the great shifters with reasonable gearing and cheap parts. Win win
and here with my actual levers
