  • 50/34 fits no problem.

  • Nice! Looks good on this frame.
You can always swap the 50 for a 46 or so right?
34t chainring and 36t rear should be low enough no?

Possibly, don't know what that will do to the shifting though.

Current cassette is 11-28 (yikes), but there are no hills here. I just want to stay in the big ring mostly, and not be all the way up the cassette. Probably will get a road link, and an 11-34 cassette.

  • Looks great. I had a 46 TA ring on a 10s veloce group on my cross bike for years. If anything it shifted better than the 50.

  • Thanks for the tip. Will see how this ride, and then make up my mind.

  • Need an expert's opinion on this cockpit setup. Paging @Hulsroy.

  • Hoods slightly up?

  • Nah if you are comfy there I'd say that pretty much spot on.
Is there reach adjustment on the levers? If so you can move hoods up and adjust levere a bit in towards the drops

  • Thanks boss. No lever adjustment. Will see how this feels.

46t ring is great for exactly this. I'm content with the trade off (max pedaling gear).

  • I too run 46t outer (with a 33t inner) paired with a 11-32 cassette, pretty good for most road riding.
If you need anything easier than 33/32 then you're probably quicker getting off and walking anyway ;)

  • Yeah, ran 46/30 x 11-28 briefly on my Muddy Fox. It was pretty good (maybe could've used a slightly bigger cassette).

  • Been progressing steadily. Currently cabling up, which (along with wrapping) is always the trickiest part of the build for me.

  • Cabling and bar tape are two of the most important details I think...yet them right and you won't notice them. Get them wrong and they make a bike like very ugly.

    No pressure 🤣

  • I love this thing already.

  • Pedals are place holders. Bar tape, and this is done.

  • Looks great

  • Cheers. And it rides great too (down the street). First impressions are really good.

  • Looks very very good already.

  • Like the Campa groupset on this.

Not tempted by a fork-mount cable hanger?

  • Yikes thats good! Cranks really suit it. Wide profile cantis on a steel frame just look right.

  • Not tempted by a fork-mount cable hanger?

This is going to get a front rack in the not-too-distant future, so that would interfere. This hanger isn't the prettiest, although the fork mounted ones aren't lookers either.

I have a smaller footprint one, but that's shiny. Could paint that...

  • Unless...

Edit: those photos took a minute to locate
