this car failed twice last year. On tenterhooks to see if it will pass again in next couple of days or be sold before then.
It failed on the same day it passed.
I.e. he took it for an MOT and they fixed the problem that it failed on, then retested. Try harderAnyway. @mbretton. Just use Motorway to flog it. If webuyanycar reckon it's worth 16.5k then Motorway will likely give a bit more, and then you don't have to piss about with Autotrader or Lufguss.

For me, I think I was a bit triggered by the "I know the rules but I think my car is important enough that I can ignore them" and thought that it was amusing given the reputation (deserved or not) of owners of 4x4s.
Other peoples choices are easy to criticize, and I am sure that this is indeed easier than a smaller car with a family. When there were 5 of us I drove an Espace, an enormous car which was useful at the time. I hope I would not do the same again but who knows, I am not in that position.
Anyway. no such thing as bad publicity. Hopefully it is sold by now

funny how there was a very nice vintage car up for sale on the forum a while ago
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/366987/?offset=25#comment16173487
that was also listed elsewhere yet no one seemed to pipe up about the rulez then?
Why?
Prejudice. -

Maybe the 5% discount to lfgss helped?

Of this class of car (compact SUV I think?!), the ones I see most on the road and therefore presume best sellers are the Nissan Qashqai and the VW Tiguan, hardly status cars. I get your point though, there are some out there that will buy the likes of the Evoque and Q3.
I agree on the space thing vs hatchbacks and particularly estates, I've had this conversation with a number of friends over the past few years always fighting the corner of the hatch/estate, but every single time they've gone for one of these jumped up cars. The ease of access for getting kids in and strapping them into car seats, etc. is a big thing for them. Another aspect is the higher driving position which feels safer, particularly to less experienced drivers.
Couple have kids, one drives, the other doesn't and needs to get licence quickly. Once they pass they go shopping for cars and less experienced driver feels safer in the taller car. I've had this play out with friends like 6-7 times over the past couple of years.
Anyway, we're too reliant on cars and everyone should get cargo bikes and be done with it.

I mean, it is literally the most despicable cunt chariot on the road, emblematic of all that is wrong with society. I actively twinge with hate when I see one. GLWS

Has this been resolved yet?

This is a flawed argument and goes against my anti-artisan-only-buy-Trek ethos.
Flawed also because; its rare that a £15k bike can mow someone down with a press of a button and the artisan buyers arent really piling on here :P
A valid argument would be #notAllLandRoverDrivers .. I wont buy it but its a valid argument

I have similar emotions every time some single person speeds past me in one of these. And no, I have not seen a family more than once in one of these.

I’d never chose to own one of these cars personally, but I do find it absolutely hilarious when people choose to act like complete cunts towards people that they’ve never met who do own this type of car, for no other reason than they own a particular type of car.
What makes you more of a cunt: driving a car that people associate with cunts, or behaving like an actual cunt on the internet towards someone you’ve never met for no particular reason other than you dislike the car they chose to drive?

They blur out their what now?

Why are people advertising these wankpanzers on a forum ostensibly concerning active travel?
Sure, allow these ads but stipulate 1% of final sale cost is split between the forum and London Cycling Campaign.
If you don't want to be called a planet killing cunt, then take your ad over to Pistonheads.

Why is there a car thread on a cycling forum?
Why is there a football thread? Why is there a fucking Star Wars thread? Is Darth Vader allowed to sell the Death Star in the miscellaneous sale section without donating 1% to the Ewok relocation fund?
