Hahaha. Reminds me of a black cab i saw with a for sale sign in the back. Asked the old boy how many miles it had done while waiting at a red light:
"437, 365. So the engine is run in. But bare in mind the indicators ain't never been used"

Calm yourselves, people. New year and all that. Figured there wouldn't be much of a demand for it here so paid to list it on AutoTrader too. Happily will take down if people feel so strongly about it đ¤Ż

Selling your car tends to be more situational and important than, say, selling a handlebar.

The âmind blownâ emoticonâŚ
Are you honestly surprised that advertising a massive 4x4 for sale on an urban cycling forum prompted a reaction?
-
• #32
Is it not in the Miscellany section? If you are not interested in it then you can scroll along, no? I'd understand a little more if it was clearly a post by a 'user1239495' who was just trying their luck.
I'm just trying to sell my car as my two kids bikes, toys etc are too big for this and I need to upgrade boot space; don't mind a bit of banter but some of the comments seem like people have clearly exercised a little too much judgement than is necessary in a 'for sale' post - but that's just my opinion.
Like I said; happy to take down if the majority are offended.

I am not offended. I think the rules are pretty clear. I think it is clear that your advert contravenes them. It seems that for some reason you think that the rules do not apply to you.
Maybe I've misread the rules.

• #34
Fine, no worries at all. I'll pull it off.
-
• #35
Way to go would have been offer it here first and then on AT if no interest. The way you've done it, giving a forum discount might have taken some of the heat off.
-
• #36
Yeah, totally makes sense. Probably didn't make it clear enough in my post that the price was flexible for LFGSS but not AT

It isn't the first time that:
-Vehicles have been offered for sale;
-4x4 been offered for sale;
-An evoque has been offered for sale. Why is there an issue now?

Like I said; happy to take down if the majority are offended.
What if a minority are offended?
-
• #39
Over vocal minority?
-
• #40
Because it is for sale somewhere else as well, which is against teh forum rulez (although that may be an unofficial rule).
Do link to where an Evoque has been offered before? I couldnât find with a cursory search. I found a surprisingly high number of accounts of near collisions with Evoques though.

The rule has been kinda dead for a couple of years after people discovered they could circumvent it by keeping their original ad. and bumping it with a post saying âmoved to eBay/Facebook/Gumtreeâ or whatever.

Hey nice car and 10/10 on your bravery
and on a serious note I wouldnât advertise a car showing the Reg plate ,

I reckon an Evoque is pretty on brand for lfgss nowadays.
Probably more economical and lower nox than a Subaru, diesel camper or other forum favs.

• #45
cunt car and you haven't removed it despite saying you would 13 hours ago

• #46
Classy reply mate, I bet youâre fun to be around

• #47
I mean, he's not wrong though....
-
• #48
ok, I'll bite. Why is it a cunt car? Because it is a Range Rover Evoque? It's not exactly a full fat thunderous V8 Range Rover mowing down the little ones at the local primary school now, is it? What makes this more of a cunt car than power barges like the Audi RS6 and Merc C63 estates that people here constantly jizz themselves all over?
There's a reason why compact SUVs like this, Audi Q3, Volvo XC40, etc. are popular with young families; it's a fuckload easier to get kids in and out of a taller car like this than a normal hatchback or estate.

Wow....bit strong no?

GlwsI discount any car that doesn't have the reg plate showing in an advert as it means I can't check the MOT history/looks like the owner is trying to hide something.
I bought a three year old Ford Galaxy from Addison Lee. The indicator bulbs were in mint condition and I didn't replace for the 9 years I owned it.
@mbretton is probably a better driver than your average AddLee minion. Fingers crossed!
