  • Missed a few weigh ins. Accepting no change is about the best it's going to be at the moment while we're without kitchen/herding tradies. Been down with covid for a few days now, lack of appetite has probably helped undo any stress snacking.

  • On a bit of a plateau but not surprised, as the seasons change and portion sizes grow to a more 'comforting' size

Should be alright if I can continue to convince myself there's no such thing as biscuits :-)

  • I did a 2 hr round trip to collect my stranded gf yesterday and was rewarded with a Chinese takeaway and as such didn't bother with the scales this morning! I don't think I'm losing weight but finding satisfaction in the fact that I'm moving again and being consistent with physio for now

  • Still testing positive. No activity, still no kitchen. Thankfully no change.

  • Can’t remember where I was last time I posted but been marathon training mode for a while so kind of maintaining weight plus a holiday in Italy that involves a fair bit of beer and pizza, was 71.8kg this morning, so 18kg down since January and 8kg lower than Brighton marathon in April…

Would like to push on after this if I can get motivation going again post marathon, and get down to 65kg ahead of Ironman training next year, but we shall see!

  • From 96kg on January 1st to 83kg now! Treated myself to a bar of lindt to celebrate.

  • How tall are you? I’m usually around your starting weight of 89/90kg but I don’t reckon I could be 65kg ever! Running must feel a whole lot easier at that weight?

  • Said no to dessert yesterday and no beer for most of the weekend so I'm calling that a win

  • Unless your user name is ironic I’m guessing I’m shorter than you! 173cm.

Running isn’t that much easier, just faster…

  • I'm trying to get down to 70kg. Currently 76.6kg. Laying off the booze by doing Go Sober October, let's see what happens

  • I've pretty much stopped drinking since May - I drink non-alcoholic beer, its way fewer calories but satiates that desire for a beer watching football or at the pub on a Thursday. I've found that to be a gamechanger. Plus no hangover.

  • I'm down at 74kg - been around here all summer despite 3 holidays, moving out of London for 4months + work travel. So overall really happy with that.

    Some things I've found helped:

Consistent exercise (obvious but you also just feel better, put it in your calendar and treat is as sacred)
a few consistent meals - I have 5-6 meals which I can make in 15-20mins without any thought as I know the calorie content and that I like them.
    Stop drinking beer
Find some healthy snacks you like and ALWAYS have these around - don't try to not snack, make it easy to do but relatively healthily.

  • Good luck, remember not to replace with sugary drinks, as this will stop/slow progress.

  • I think the no hangover is also a big factor- it means I’m more likely to get up next day and do an early training session or my daily yoga, rather than lie on the sofa while the kids watch milkshake!

  • Ok thank god for that! I was picturing you as kipchoge build but skinnier

  • This is all starting to get near festive season, not that far off a 2023 thread...

I'm just on the way back from a cheese, bread and wine fuelled half term in France, so November is going to be a slim month before all the Xmas meals. -4kg is the plan.

Need to check weight tomorrow morning, and hope the damage isn't too ridiculous.

  • Still at 74kg over here - I have 2-3 clients lunches and dinners per week from here until Christmas so let’s see how the next few weeks go!

  • Things may have reverted a bit since my last post in March.

Not sure if I really want to go through the 3 months mental work needed to get me back to 80 though.

Saying that, I could probably ditch the bag of crisps, tube of smarties, and handful of haribo, that seem to be my post-supper snack.

  • Could have been worse, could have been 12kg above 92 by now!
    New thread starting 1st Jan...

  • Same. Havent been on the scales in a few months but I am certain I'm back where I was at the start of the year.

  • Back up to 70kg which is a couple of kg lighter than this time last year, couple of kg heavier than the summer

  • Tactically timed end-of-year report :-) I've gone from about 90kg to under 80kg, so effectively reversing a few decades worth of fairly steady weight gain. This is pretty much 100% from frequent exercise, which is something I've never really done before. That also seems to work in the other direction: the bump at the end is from having to take it easy for a few weeks (took up running, probably started a bit too hard, knees offended).

I'd like to think that I didn't really have an issue with my weight before, but being able to do something a bit differently in a sustained way feels nice.
